So far nothing. Overlooking a power line to the front of the blind and woods to my back And left. I can look over a small food plot to the right too.
Quiet morning. Heard maybe5 shots after legal light.

Well just as I finished writing looked up and there was a 8 pt standing right in that power
line. I shoot he turns and walks away. I liked the shot but no blood no disturbed leaves no sign of him anywhere. I guess I f@&$d up. 60 yd shot that’s a gimmee with the 45-70. Pissed off right now.

I’ll take a clean miss any day over a bad shot! The fun continues.

YouR right I think I misjudged the elevation. My blind sits considerably higher than that edge of the power line. I shot a doe one time that stood a little further down into the power line. Hit her very hi in the spine but DRT. SO THAT ELEVATION IS SIGNIFICANT.

Bumped a deer the moment I stepped off the back my property, just on the other side of the South creek.

I'm back in my API climber once again on the furthest SE side of the South creekshelf, as close as I can get to the creek bottom, in the biggest diameter tree nearest to the creek, which is a skinny Ash.

I'm over a major deer run that goes in between two major Buck bedding areas.

The North ridge is right behind me.

I have a nice and mild NW wind with no rain at the moment and mid 40 degree temp.

We'll see what happens here at this new spot.

Back in my 'Northwestern Stand' this evening. A setup I haven't hunted in well over a week.

Currently, we have a low 40's temp with the super mild East wind, which is perfect for this location.

It appears that I have a hunter or hunters very near by cause I just heard one, then two quick shots within 500 yards of me, just to the SE/my right.

I also noticed that the scrap under my 'PLB' appears to be not only much bigger in size since the last time I was here, but it's very fresh 'TOO'!

Maybe those hunters will push a nice mature Buck my way.

We shall see...

Good luck to whomever is huntin this evening!

Saw this buck on the way in and on the way out. I give up. Zero shots heard from 8am to 3:00. Even Monday only heard 6 shots all day! Jefferson county herd is still decimated.

The decimation of the herd is the correct word. I think we lost close to half or more just by judging the number of deer sightings both in my hunting ground as well as in my yard as compared to before the disease. I couldn’t go this weekend but will be back at it for the bonus days.
