It will mutate, that's just a matter of time. Yeah, MERS with an R0 on par with COVID-19 would make what we're experiencing now look like a picnic.

People should be allowed to form their own opinions whether or not the following documentary is informative and/or relevant.
I'm half way through it at the moment and I believe it's worthy of my time so far.

Yep he just drones on and on - set n him up for a presidential bid down the roadI wish someone would pull the plug on Cuomo, about tired of seeing his whiny ass in front of a camera....
I saw that. Would greatly lower the fatality percentage if that's true across the rest of the country. But that sample size is ridiculously small, so I'm holding out till more testing can be done.Promising results.
One third of participants in Massachusetts study tested positive for antibodies linked to coronavirus
The Mass. General study took samples from 200 residents on the street in Chelsea, MA. Participants remained anonymous and provided a drop of blood to researchers, who were able to produce a result in ten minutes with a rapid test.
Sixty-four of the participants tested positive – a “sobering” result, according to Thomas Ambrosino, Chelsea’s city manager.

I think you missed my point or I delivered it wrong. Point being, people are going to doctors for other reasons and finding out they have covid 19.View attachment 99597

Nothing to see here. Just stubbed toes and unrelated deaths all being blamed on COVID.

The other problem is that this virus appears to be able to be contracted again - that getting it doesn't guarantee you'll have immunity from it, so even if it's true I'm not sure it's something we should be celebrating till we know more about how easy it is to get it again after you've already had it. Maybe the 2nd (or 3rd?) time around is when the serious stuff that lands you in the hospital starts to happen. Who knows...
I'm sure a lot of people will be like, "see? this is proof that this thing was way overblown!" which would be a mistake. Too much evidence in the refrigeration trucks, piles of body bags, overwhelmed hospitals (in hot spots, granted), mass graves, incinerators running non-stop 24/7 in China, etc., etc. You can't fake that on a global scale.
Yeah, that's a good point. Evidence does seem to point there. Obesity, heart disease, diabetes, asthma, age, etc. all increase death risk (and type A blood - wtf's up with that?).I think the reason for the vast majority of the issue is modern medicine has found a way to extend the life of people with chronic health issues far beyond what they normally would have lived in the past. Pills for high blood pressure, diabetes medicine, asthma is manageable, heart issues are treatable, cancer survival, organ transplants, etc.. Medical treatments for various health ailments have enabled people to live longer fuller lives. Now, something like this comes along and a lot of those people cant survive the strain. We can patch up a failing house foundation and keep it standing, but if a big storm comes along with 90 mph winds we're in trouble.
