Yep but thats was 1955
So the argument is the how can young people pull themselves up from boot scraps with dead end jobs and limited opportunities. This is the very reason y they have their hands out and are entitled. I do not agree with that attitude but i understand their perspective. If you are told you're entire life you'll get a good job and have a upper middle class life if you do this, this and this, while ur parents work at the ford plant, you're going to feel screwed when best you can find is working as a temp at whirl pool.

The college and medical cost are holding a lot of good people down. Add the vehicle market cost and people can't live without help. Those 3 markets crash and this country would be a better place.

The guns and ammo side of this? Threads just like this one makes people buy more🤣

Keep this in mind Geezer... we might be heading for hard times in the country. And that no good son of a bitch and the whore vice son of a bitch have both promised to open the border and provide free health care to all who enter. Those two do not give a crap or concern about the citizens of this country... wanna bring in more... and give em all they need. Wrong.

Keep this in mind Brock - don't let that no good son of a bitch and the whore vice son of a bitch stress you out - control what you can - i was reading how stress can cause gout flare ups - ya don't need ta set your hair on fire to make your point

I think you have a good point there, our current generation of working adults from 40ish through the early 20 year olds were all raised by or heavily influenced by the Boomer generation telling us to go to school, and with a college degree you can have a successful life. No denying that.

However, today's world is not that world. College degrees are not longer a conduit for a "guaranteed' secure job. That is because the baseline requirements for some indutries and jobs have changed, some of the degrees are downright almost useless for a secure job and the cost of a college degree has quickly outstripped the economic advantage to the degree. There are many reasons for this and none are easy fixes. Secondly, as Joe described our "idea" of a middle class or upper middle class life is very skewed compared to most of the rest of the world and that's "our American" perspective. Finally, the path to success that our parents and grandparents followed is not the path to success today, the job market is more fluid and requires a completely different mindset and skillset than the "move up the totem pole" of previous generations.

We have tried to maintain the same plan but not changed it or updated it to today's world. This leads to a feeling of anger and disappointment and feeling "robbed". However those individuals also lack the perspective on how skewed our world view is compared to most of the rest of the world. There is also the aspect of personal responsibility for making decisions (good or bad, or with good intentions that ended up bad) that some seem to have issues dealing with. If you look back most of your memories of your parents are when you were a teenager or later...that's when your parents were probably near or entering the peak of their earning potential and had moved past the tougher years of the 20s and early 30s. Now you have these younger kids who are trying to emulate or keep up with their parents lifestyles at peak earning years while in their early years. Then you have the influx of media that shows all these incredibly unrealistic lifestyles that they try to emulate and then you wonder why they make unwise financial decisions and end up horribly in debt. Its not sustainable but something has to change.

boomers failed miserably with teaching kids about debt. My grandfathers approach...no loans no credit cards= no bills save money. Almost every boomer I know still has all of these....their advice-banks exist to gave money you could have it now instead of two years saving. Thank god I listened to my grandfather and have skipped the a want it now disease almost....I do want good .22 shells now!!! I think this is just a post for young people's mindsets with work ethic not starting out at 60k a year...any more thoughts of ammo?

Oh this is the one thread we're supposed to stay on topic about got it.

I don't have an opinion yet.

The GA Senate races are key. If the repubs keep the senate majority and Biden is sworn in then things will come back around. If they lose the majority it could be CW2 ugly and a Thomas Paine quote comes to mind.

I don't think Trump is done with his fight yet. If he prevails we're still gonna be looking down the barrel at CW2 but with a different objective.

Until we know this its all up in the air.

I’ll feel better about the security of our 2A rights if republicans win at least 1 of Georgia senate Runoffs. Trump/McConnell put a bunch of conservative federal judges in place and having a 6-3 conservative leaning SCOTUS that hopefully will create a firewall for the more extreme 2A infringements.

I have a reasonable supply of ammo for the next couple of years and a better supply of reloading components.

My biggest fear is Supreme Court justices getting Epsteined. The Clinton's will have the judges offed. Mysterious heart attacks, car crashes, suicides. . .they are becoming pretty well known for it and who is going to stop them? Nobody has stopped them yet.

In regards to work ethic, college, etc.. . .I am a prime example of old school. Sure, I have a joke of an associate's degree. I don't use it. I don't make killer money, but I keep my debt in reason. Not debt free but I will be there. Even our boomers are stupid about debt. "Great. Pension pays $4000/mo. I have a new house with $2000 mortgage, no IRA or 401k, Harley payment, truck payment, boat and camper payment and just enough to out gas in them. Look at me! I made it! Anyone know where I can get a part time job?" I've decided it doesn't matter what age you are. Either you're good with money or your not. I am thankful my parents never made much and dad was raised by parents and grandparents who made it thru the depression. They were pack rats and cheapskates, and it was passed down to me, but we aren't over extended financially.
