Your teacher was correct especially when you on uncle Pos Ted land.
My teach is very lucky though... I heard of taking a dog leash with you and your looking for your dog, but he carries a bottle of cheer in his pack and says after trying to deliver and headed back home he trips over a dead deer....

First pic is two bearded hens...one with light brown wings. Second pic is a few nice gobblers I’ll be chasing next spring.

Sunrise here is 7:17 so legal light is 6:47...walking to my stand at 6:00 which is 150 yards behind my house, I see two bedded deer off to the right of my trail. Wouldn’t you know it, one is a good sized 8. They only run 60 yards and I again walk to within 30 yards of them. They run toward my neighbors field and as I’m getting into my blind, I see a doe bedded 60 yards to my left. I figure my hunt is already over but get into the stand anyway. At first light, I have two does on the pile. Hoping with this nor’easter coming in this afternoon that the doe that was with the buck earlier will come to feed and bring him with her. Damn squirrels still carrying off the cobs.🤬

Good Luck George.... I'm having some nice hot coffee... Wasn't about to shell out another $56 for another permit to hunt 3 days max...
