As I was walking in I saw two deer within the picked cornfield. One large bodied deer in the middle of cornfield & one smaller near the furthest edge to the South. I watched them both slowly graze while leaving the field to the East into the woods as I hiked to my tree, approx. 80yrds. to the North of where they went in.
@7:30 a.m. I watched that same large bodied deer get up from its bed, approx. 70yrds. SE, and head NE through the thick pines. I believe he was a good buck.
@8:00 a.m., 4 Wild Turkeys popped over the top of the North hill at the end of the pines within the woods.
15 minutes later, a young buck follows. I watched the young guy casually enter the thick pines to the NE and cruised right along the edge of it, passing me @50-55yrds., straight out in front of me, and continued onward to the South, then finally out of sight by 8:35 a.m.
Those 4 Wild Turkeys grazed throughout the picked cornfield for about an hour, then entered back into the woods, South of me, approx. 100yrds. away. I expect to see them again here shorthly, making their way back North to the area where I've been seeing them the past two days in the late afternoon hours.
@9:30a.m., one young antlerless at the corn pile to the NW @25yrds. within the cornfield, while three other antlerless deer were to the SE, right along the edge of the thick pines. They all just regrouped again, and then casually walked into the thick pines, heading East, NE, away from me.
So far, seems to be actioned packed.
Gonna make a whole day out of it with the bow.
Good luck to anyone else that is 'TOO' hunting today!
