The young 10 walked right passed me. I know where y’all hunt it’s not that big of a deal. We normally have 6-8pt deer. This deer is two and has good brows and some mass. I’ve never killed a slick ten.

Crazy how on the coast it's 46 this morning and midway up the state it's 36. The gulf sure holds some heat doesn't it.

It got to 34 when day broke. The gulf keeps us down south usually about 6-8 degrees warmer but warms up much quicker.
To recap our hunt, Hb seen the ten and 5 does, I seen the ten pt as he walked right past me and 9 does. Hb buddy ryan had his gf w him and she never killed a deer. She was doe hunting or big buck hunting. I told them if they killed a buck they will have to mount it. You’d be surprised how guest will kill the right deer and not just any deer when you tell them that. I don’t set size parameters because what I would mount and what others would mount is totally different. Anyway, I told them the 10 point was off limits as he has great potential that I have ever seen since owning the property for 14 years. Just so happens, guess who walks by them twice 25 yards away? Yup the 10 pt. They video the buck and was appreciative of the opportunity to hunt the property. I will bring them back so she can kill her first deer. I want to be part of that storyline.
It warmed up a lot and we not hunting this evening. Instead the boys are setting catfish lines right now. Hopefully we catch a few to fry up at the camp.
I have a friend I met on another hunting site that no longer exist. He texted me that him and his gf was hunting buckhorn wma and killed a 7pt. Asked if we could help him get it out. We left and got to the camp where they waited for us. Hunter took my truck and atv with “trapper” and got his deer. After getting back Hunter cleaned and iced his deer down in the ice chest. Hunter has cleaned a few deer for him and Trapper likes to pay him. I told him he don’t owe that boy nothing. He said it ain’t killing him to pay him. I watched and tried to cut him off from paying him but he gave him a$100 bucks in the woods already. [emoji2373]

Update on today. Me and dj hunted the property since it wasn’t about to rain. Hunter slept in and their buddy Ryan went to a wood duck hole that I sent him to by letting him use my GPS. He limited out and said we could’ve all limited out [emoji2373]. The deer hunting reflected our fishing from last night and today. We baited before dark catching 1. They went checked them at 9 and caught 1. Ryan ran them after the duck hunt and caught 1. We just revisited at dark and caught 2. Dj had 1 doe this morning and I seen a group of 5. Started to rain off and on at 2:30.
Hunter went to go pull a lokon and cell cam and had another cell cam on public. He said hog at truck, could’ve shot a spike half way and doe was standing where the cam was. He is sitting by the slough near truck for a hog. Just got dark so will know in 30 minutes.
It’s 66 degrees w a front pushing through at 3am. Will be 36 at 8am. Hopefully high pressure and clear skies will have them horny bucks on their feet.

Good morning. The cold front is here as it passed over night. Nice and windy and temps in low 30’s. Got both boys hunting and hopefully someone gets a shot. It’s been slow as the deer seemed to be locked down. This weather change could put them on their feet looking for food and love. Cold ride in on the wheeler to my stand and the boys wanting to walk from here to theirs.
After the hunt I’m gonna feed and pull cards hoping to see the buck I lost on cam. Will report back around noon but hopefully I can send a nut pic to our resident dwarf lol. Good luck to all out there trying to get it done today and happy Christmas Eve.

Well we had a good hunt, I seen a small buck and 5 doe, dj seen a 2 yr old 7 and 4 doe and Hb seen 17 does.
Pulled cards and like a jackass I put the same card in and deleted pics. So got to view 4 cards and my buck that I lost never showed up. Probably got gut and he’s dead. We still have a 4 yr old short tined 8 pt that’s a shooter, a 3 yr old cull 7 w a broke brow and a bigger 7 that is a cull. Hopefully someone else’s big buck shows up soon.
The boys went checked the lines that I baited at dark snd had a 5# catfish. Don’t know why the quit but they did.

We back in the stands. We caught a pic yesterday of our target 8 at 3:30 and 5:30 at the big field stand so of course Hb is hunting there this evening. Dj is in his stand and I’m in the middle. These deer are starting to piss me off and blood is fixing to flow.
