Mike the story is a good read and I like the family involvement good and bad :smiley_clap: Taking kids into the woods is a crap shoot but one I always enjoyed..... Good too see your Dad was involved in the recovery, wish I had that kind of relationship with my Dad when he was alive.... Enjoy the time with him......

J, he's been involved in every single deer I've shot and every recovery. I'm not sure how I'll ever get along without him. God willing, myself and my boys will still have quality years with him in the woods and elsewhere for a good while. I hope I'm as healthy as he is at 72.

I appreciate all the kind words guys.
It was just amazing and lucky how everything happened with this deer. Every year has been a huge challenge and that one just fell in my lap. It's crazy how things work sometimes.

Great buck and story Cotty! Mount looks great, I hope you can get on another this year. How long before you think you'll be taking the oldest boy out with ya?

Both boys went last year. My oldest one was into it more and hunted for a buck all season until the last day of muzzy and he took a doe.
He did stick a decent 8 point the weekend after I got mine with his crossbow but it was a shoulder shot and we never found him.

To his credit, for a 10 year old at the time, he hunted his ass off.

Mike, congrats again on a fantastic buck last year. The timing and the way it unfolded is something else. Great write up.
