As some of y’all know, half my household has covid. So it was sit here all day or go fishing. Loaded up the boat and launched at the river. Headed south to fish for redfish at the pass but a storm was brewing and it got windy. Ducked off into a small drain where we caught some reds on a falling tide. Started at the mouth and caught a small bass, then another and another. 5 straight cast I caught a bass and lost one on the next cast. Several was boated and thrown back. Had a decent one get off close to 2# and another cast I had another bass 5’ from the boat when the water erupted. A 3.5-4’ gar grabbed the fish lunging out the water. Bitch made me lose my fish and lure as it popped my line. Continued up the drain catching and releasing bass as I went. Caught a redfish half way up the drain and boated it. More bass was caught and another redfish was caught. Good day fishing with about 35 bass caught w me keeping 10 for a limit and 2 redfish.

Why is that? Brackish water, I can catch about anything. Let me list them. Reds, bass, strippers and hybrids, speckled trout, flounder, crabs, shrimp, flounder, any type of catfish, sharks, black drum, sheepshead, Jack’s, Spanish mackerel and the list goes on.
