So is the theory that the antlers are fake (made from a mold), or sheds that we "attached" to the skull, or the deer's own and the skull plate was manipulated to increase the spread?

Agreed, the controversy has been going on for a long long time. No sense in going all Scooby Doo and Mystery Machine the whole thing LOL!

I was just thinking that the spread is only one measurement and cannot be greater than the length of the longest main beam. It just seems off to try and screw with the skull plate to potentially change one measurement. And people mount sheds all the time. The Fleming sheds are spectacular. This story is weird and yet facinating at the same time. I just wondered if people thought the antlers were real......
