Better? Yes, but still haven’t played much competition. Look better? Sure, but Danm we should against the teams we’ve played.

I will say Day has made changes, but Buckeye Nation called for it and the only time it happens is when they get beat. I hope Day makes me eat my words on the criticism I’ve had for him.

For me to be satisfied with Coaching they will need to win out and beat Penn St. The bucks have the talent, but do they have the Coaching to keep them in the hunt for a NC!

The offense is really clicking on all cylinders right now and the defense is playing better I will admit but they need to keep improving to have any chance of winning the Natty. The defense will struggle to stop the more potent offenses in the top 25 so the offense will need to continue to play lights out till they get it figured out. The big 10 or whatever they’re called now starts separating the men from the boys next week going forward so get ready for some great matchups and may the best team win.

GO BUCKS……………..O-H……………..

Well said, Ric. I watched last night (majority of the game.) I kept thinking "bet CJ doesn't look this good with a Georgia Bulldog breathing in his ear."

My take aways from last night were less about the Buckeyes and more about the Hoosiers. I didn't realize how bad the Hoosiers have slipped this year. They really looked horrible. It was about impossible for the Buckeyes to NOT look good. I feel bad from Indiana.

I agree about the IU team analysis Phil, and they also played without two of their starting corners.
I just wanted to say the parity in college football is really quite noticeable today as anybody can beat anybody if the favorites aren’t focused or play fundamentally sound football for 60 full minutes.
The team up nort also looks pretty dang balanced and will be a tough opponent for The Game but the Bucks can’t look past no one before then.

I'm undecided on the team up north. They clearly are a better team than they have been. Next week against Mi State will tell us a lot I think. They've had some real squeakers this year. Barely beat Nebraska (who I feel is better than their record shows.) Barely beat half the teams they've played. We shall see.

I just want (as a fan) to see the Buckeyes continue to improve, be tested and pass those tests, and play one game at a time. If they win out while doing these things. . . Playoffs and the outcome will be interesting. I'm not making any predictions. I just think they will be interesting and we will have hope if the Bucks keep steadily improving. Stroud hasn't been tested much since he has been back in the saddle.

we'll see how good the Buckeyes are or aren't next weekend. Michigan hasn't played anybody and barely beat Nebraska and Rutgers, so I'm not so sure they are much better than they have been, just have had an easy schedule so far.

I think Penn St is overrated and won't be much of a test. The two Michigan teams will be the best barometer, and I don't think OSU will struggle with either of them.

Losing to Iowa with their QB out wasn't a surprise. Midgame adjustments to a backup QB don't always happen. Losing to IL made me scratch my head. Be a good game next week. Penn State will bring their A game to OSU.

And. . . I'm not sure Iowa is as good as their record shows either. Have a darn good defense, but it takes more than defense to win in the playoffs.

I liked what I saw a little better yesterday. Still plenty to clean up (secondary could tighten up a bit although did hold Purdue passing yards and Bell to respectable numbers.) Offense seemed solid as could be.

So my broken record is going to spin one more week: Need to continue to improve and win one week at a time. Then come post season? I guess we will see how improved we are.

The next two weeks you can throw stats and records out the window. Comes down to who is hungrier and who plays smartest. Who leaves emotion unchecked and who keeps it under control. Turnovers. Momentum. Penalties. . . . Could be a couple of great games or a blow out either direction. That's what is fun about the rivalry games.

I-O!!!

I'd say thats a game. Time to talk playoffs. @Jackalope

A rare year where the ole bucks have earned it on the field, despite a loss they've played some ranked teams and consistently improved. Not that it matters much, barring a miracle Georgia is a son of a bitch this year. I don't see Bama making it past Ga in the SEC championship game, and even if by some stroke of luck they do they aren't really a NC caliber team this year. As it stand now its Georgia's to lose.

Buckeyes stomped them in first half. Put it on autopilot in second half. Just going thru the motions. Not saying they needed to put up another 49pts, but not really playing. Kill the clock with the backup players.
