Yep, we didn't deserve to be there this year as evidenced by our flop against Oregon, at Ann Arbor, and tonight. The biggest difference I see between Alabama and everyone else is their 2nd and 3rd string guys step in and they never lose step. Ohio State is inconsistent and our "next man up" is always a momentary step back. That's coaching. Brian Hartline is getting it done with the WRs and the RB room has been super consistent in the 2000s, but our defense and o-line needs help.

Its recruiting. Alabama has top 100 kids through most of their 3 deep. Georgia has 17 different 5 stars play last night. Michigan had 3, with 2 of them being the true freshman QB and RB that arent starters

Hartline has done a fabulous job with his unit as well as who works with the RBs. Our OL coach and the entire defensive coaching staff needs to be looked at!
It’s perplexing as a fan to see such indecisiveness on the play calling and piss poor clock management though! Constant problem of burning crucial TO’s because late getting plays in on time! Been a constant problem the entire UM era and Days control.

THIS NEVER HAPPENS WITH SABAN!!! It’s not tolerated!

It's a mixture of talent and coaching. Lots of 2 and 3 stars become stars with good coaching and proper schemes. Bama and Georgia are definitely enjoying a rich pool of talent, but they also seem to be well prepared and execute far more consistently than other teams, too.

Halfway thru the fourth quarter and it starts to get exciting.

I get it. Both teams have players out. Even so, the first half was sad and frustrating to watch. Lots of botched plays. The fumble by JSN while running for a TD. Interception by Stroud. Missed tackles. Swiss cheese defense in first half. Be nice if we hold on for a win. Nothing to brag about. Second half defense has been better thankfully.

I’m so stressed right now but relieved! Offense is very good but glad we have the off season to work on our defense.
There were some new players that stepped up and shined tonight but we still have the same players in the starting lineup that need replaced or to up their game if this team will improve.
Props to Day for making adjustments and getting his players more fired up in second half.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Stroud played like a Heisman award winner tonight.

Imagine if we came out swinging on offense in the first quarter? Would they have continued digging or let off the throttle? Hard saying. I'll take the win but I'm not bragging on it. Hats off to Utah. They were jacked up. Brought the intensity.

I don't think that 8 months is going to be enough time to remedy the Buckeye's defensive struggles. Ironic, though that the difference in this game was stops made by a hodge-podge defense in the second half. Defenses win championships. I see a carbon copy of this season coming next year. More offense than anyone can stop, not enough defense to go the distance. Again.
