2022-2023 Goals Thread

Starting the annual thread. Going to do it a little differently this year.

Here's the thread. Let's hear your goals. I want to ponder on it a bit before I list mine.

I'm gonna tag my new personal best buck on my first hunt this year. That way I can dedicate the rest of my season to my kids getting some bow kills from the ground! As much as I love late season, I hope to be done this year by close of ML season.

Gonna do somewhat different this year. Gonna try to hunt couple of state park. I’ve not done that since 2008.

Goals for this year are simple. Don’t get wrapped up in the size of the antlers, put the kids wants for this season first and enjoy every damn minute in the woods. Oh yeah, and kill another one over 150 lol

Same as every year, hunt when I can,enjoy the outdoors and try and kill a good one.

Short term initial goal is to get Jenna out as often as possible and to help keep the deer hunting fire in Allen while away at college. Hopefully he will still look for stand time when he gets the opportunities to do so.

The introvert in me shall rise ! Knowing I don't have anywhere to be , other than in my blinds any given day during the rut & beyond to enjoy the season.

Roughly the same as past years in that I want to hunt as much as I can (when the conditions are right), I want to do it safely, I want to kill a big one, and I want the girls to help re-fill the freezer. I'm going to get off my ass and make a few more public land hunts in October this year as well. I've got a couple spots I haven't seen since locating them a few years ago and I'd like to mix it up and see some new ground this fall. My wife's new schedule and my ability to flex time means I'll be able to hunt almost any evening the weather allows for it, so no excuse not to mix it up a little.

Hunt with my brother and buddies more, have fun, soak in all the enjoyment and relish it more and come home safe after every hunt. Oh, refilling the freezer and dropping a good deer would be nice too.

Between losing another hunting property, Amish gaining permission into the last place I can hunt , and getting a surprise possible divorce brought up last week... My only goal is to at least get out one time not see a hat and beard sitting in my stand and enjoy the day in the stand whether I see anything or not. Signed up for the park lottery so maybe I'll get lucky on that as well that'd be cool.
