I'm ready to throw this crossbow over the hill. I have never liked them but was hoping this one would be different. As of right now I won't be hunting this year. I can't get these Muzzy broadheads to group at all. I can't keep shooting because it blows right through the target and rips off the fletching. I have a buddy that uses Muzzy Trocars with his Excalibur and he says they fly great. I guess the next step is mechanical broadheads which I have never had luck with. Can anyone suggest something other than Rage......they will never get any of my money again.

NAP spitfire. You won't have any issues with them and they'll group great for you. Had great success with them when I used my crossbow for a few years
I was considering the Spitfires. Will they stay closed in flight from a crossbow shooting 375+ fps?
After doing some research I found that Excalibur sells a mechanical called the X-ACT 100. It is supposed to stay closed in flight at high speeds and be engineered to match their bolts and bows. If it had a practice tip I would have already ordered them.

Some guys sware on putting a dental band on any mechanical for extra insurance . I've never had an issue just shooting them the way they were. Couldn't hurt though. My xbow was only 360 fps. Imo the main thing is if you don't open the blades and close them out of boredem or showing buddies then they shouldn't come open on their own.

NAP Spitfires were the only mechanicals I ever had confidence in and success with. But I ordered the broadheads Excalibur sells. The reviews were great and they are designed for higher speeds.
I just received another pack of the Spits Never had an issue with them in either my compound or xbow.

I've never had good flight out of Muzzy broadheads either, but specifically the MX3.
I'm shooting Slick Tricks out of my Ravin R10 and hitting 2" target dots at 70 yards.
I'm using a Blackout block target that stops broadheads (it's a broadhead target) out of any crossbow. This Ravin R10 is shooting a 400 gr. bolt at 400 fps, but this target stops them. I have a bag target for field tips, a Hurricane 520 that's rated at 520 fps and it works great. 
I purchased the Hurricane 520 off of Amazon, for $52.
The Blackout block target was purchased at Bass Pro, for $60. It'll stop field tips too, but it's an absolute pain in the ass to pull the arrows or bolts out of it, if I'm using field tips. I thought it would double for both, but it's a broadhead only type target.

I had similar issues. I'm using a tenpoint stealth nxt so a similar speed bolt thrower.
I disliked these a lot. I had some open up in flight and had a hard time trusting them afterwards. I also dislike how they didn't group the same as the NAP practice point of a field point. It was annoying to have 3 zeros.
I also tried the rages and the little plastic thing i couldn't get to work.
That's why I bought 6 of the clovis helix cut. I made a post about them. I'm going to sight in this week and will know how close to field points they shoot and then hopefully some tissue trials later this fall. I posted about them in a different thread.
Muzzys are built like a tank....they fly like one too! Once I started shooting over 300 fps, muzzys were obsolete. I shoot 415 fps now and only shoot practice tips into my targets. (Spyder Web Targets are recommended with the speeds we're shooting. Bulldog comes in second jmo. ) I know many do not like them, but I shoot the 100 gr. Rage and even the knock-offs to boot. Last 40 deer shot with them ended up in the freezer.
I will send out a message to Wyvern and see what Flys best out of the Excalibur bows.
I hope this works for you. Been in those shoes before and it's frustrating! (Especially with what these new bows cost).
Wyvern usually gets back with me fast...hopefully he recommends X-Act as well.
I attempted to shoot my compound yesterday after all the frustration. The first shot hurt but was dead on. My shoulder felt like it exploded the second time I drew the bow. So that’s not even an option
