Your pic looks like it hit high and to the rear….the first pic posted looks like it hit low middle…unless I was mistaken and that black spot isn’t the point of impact.

Yeah, that looks like a solid liver shot to me….I’ve seen them go down quick from a shot like that…just depends on how many blood vessels were hit. I know it’s hard to wait but that’s the smart thing to do. Hope you find him not far from where you shot.
I truly appreciate everyone's comments. Quite a few have been looking at this over & over I bet. Just gotta wait it out.

I'm confident you will find him. My son had a nice liver shot a couple of seasons ago. We found the deer the next morning not far from where the shot was taken. As Tom Petty sang - waiting is the hardest part.

Ground assault tonight on some public. Hunted here last night and spooked a doe because I thought she was the yote I just saw and started squeaking at her (idiot). Virtually all super thick CRP with a few oaks and apple trees mixed in. As far as I can tell the deer haven’t touched any apples, but are hammering the acorns. I’m setup near a private field of super green beans, under an oak that’s producing with 3 major trails coming together. Tough hunting because they can bed literally anywhere. Good luck to those out.

Pulling in I spotted some deer. So I hustled to cut them off. Soon I was rewarded with a tender BB. Thanks dad!
I was covered up in deer and probably could've filled all 3 tags. I didn't get greedy. Waited until I couldn't see any deer and started the drag. That part hurt...probably don't need to do that again this year.

A northeast wind is great for hunting the back side of my farm, so here I am. As is the case with most first sits of the year, it was a hurried cluster-fuck getting set up… but I’m here and there’s already two does feeding in the neighboring bean field about 200 yards away. It’s gonna have to be a chip shot with this stand placement and this wind. Fingers crossed.

Only saw two this evening. 2 year old 8 was the only buck. The oak Tyler was in was raining acorns. He saw 11.
