I honestly think the main point to this whole ordeal is money makes people do incredibly stupid things and so does fame. These guys will forever be remembered by their actions they chose that day. Are they habitual cheaters??? Who knows. Have they done it before…? Guarantee it. These PEE ONS deserve every second of what they are getting. BUT. I have a strong opinion that they will not be charged criminally for anything they’ve done other than maybe the cut up fillets… everything else should be handled privately by the event…. Again, if I was apart of that tournament, I would have reacted just like everyone else and been furious but that’s how tournament fishing is anymore. Class is gone, etiquette is gone and so are most people’s pride…

It would be awesome if they were forced to take the poly again in regards to previous moneys won at other tourneys. One of them already failed the poly at the fall brawl.

Unfortunately man can't self regulate. There was a time when Ohio did not have white tailed deer. Licensure is necessary for conservation.
This... Exactly this. I'm big on our rights and against the government breathing down our backs to tell us what to do and We should be free to do what we want but unfortunately the amount of dumbassess in this world heavily outweigh the normal abiding ethical citizen so there are some laws/regulations that have to be in place to a certain extent to control the masses that can't be good moral people. I mean come-on not everyone can be normal like us here in TOOville 🤣😝

It absolutely IS necessary.
Awesome. What’s the fine for illegally transporting fillets?
It’s chicken shit. Probably equivalent to a normal speeding ticket.

These guys should be held accountable, absolutely. In the form of a suits from fellow anglers and the tournament organizers. Fraud is a real crime. Hiding fillets and whatnot… that’s chicken shit.

I think it should also be emphasized just how ballsy that weigh-in MC was for calling them out. Had he cut those fish open and been wrong, and found nothing, he would’ve looked like a real asshole and hurt his own reputation.

I really don’t understand why fish inspection isn’t mandatory for all of those tournaments anyway. At the very least, for the top 3 places. Those walleye aren’t getting released… Cut them open after every weigh-in.

From the interview he did afterward he said he could feel something hard when he grabbed ahold of the fish. I agree if not being released then they should cut them open.

I don’t know how someone would pull it off, but I’m surprised it hasn’t happened in these nation wide big buck contests, like the quest hunt. Big money always makes for shady stuff happening
Happened 2 years ago in Ohio Quest hunt contest. The scumbag was found guilty of hunting without permission and fined 15k trophy restitution, had deer and bow taken by the DOW, but Quest hunt refused to take action on their end. They never made it public that they crowned a cheater and he kept all his prizes from them. Quest hunt owners were afraid it would ruin their reputation. They had the opportunity to seize his winnings and they did not. Taints an organizations reputation if they refuse to take action. Glad this trail on the walleye scandal took action.

Most laws are created because people can not self regulate, from wildlife laws, to environmental laws, to construction laws, you name it people do what they can get away with in order to benefit themselves. Sadly there is little pride in workmanship, no ethics in how business is handled, it is all about self gain.

My argument is valid. Why do I need a license to catch fish? Why do I need a license to marry? Why do we need any of this? Just stop...clear your mind, and ask why as grown men do we NEED permission to do anything?

Noone is forcing anyone to enter a fishing tournament and pay the entry fee...I consider a car a necessity more than fishing.

You are calling for the murder of 2 men over money and fish. I'm not sure what to make of that.
You must be living in a different world then I am. If you want a lawless country I am sure there are places that exist elsewhere that have no laws. Try visiting and let us know what you think, if you make it out alive that is. Im as much or more of a libertarian as the next guy, but you must have reason and put things into context. Suggestions like not having regulations, not needing licenses etc are just silly and not helpful to anyone.

Also, maybe some have never fished a tournament before, but its not all bragging rights, especially big ones like this. There is serious money on the line, at least for the average person its serious money. These guys stole not only from the other anglers, but the other anglers families as well. Its absolutely very personal.
