Open country has it's advantages. Sounds like my deer numbers are high because I saw a group of 4-6 at last light. But. . . Often times those deer are 200-400 yards away and not heading my way. Probably have the same or more deer within 200-400yds in the hills but you might not be able to glass 5-10acres (or more) from your stand.

That Carroll county buck, shot at last light, tracked 60yrds and backed out for the night. Said it only took about 30m to find him this AM. Last evening they were moving well.

It was a good hit.... after 60 yards the blood wasn't great... having a hard time finding more.

When in doubt back out.

Went about 125yds

They didn't want to chance pushing it off the property.

Only one frisky unaccompanied minor this AM.
