SIL got sick Sunday evening, daughter woke up with it this morning. They might not make it…. Piss poor timing, but that’s just me being greedy and wanting too spend time with her….. ☹️ Regardless, I’ll see her next week while I’m up for gun season…. Then they’ll be down for Xmas as well….

Typically rabbit hunt in the morning, going to my mothers for a shitty thanksgiving meal because my parents don’t like flavor or spices, Saturday we are having thanksgiving/football party at our house for my wife’s side of the family. I’m deep frying a turkey and my BIL is smoking a bird, great spread

I've been known to carry a small pouch of SPG to certain relatives dinners

My son and i were down with a GI bug yesterday but other than having some immodium in the system I'm feeling basically normal (for me @"J" ) today.

My FIL had a large vascular surgery yesterdayand not sure when he's gonna get home from that.

MIL is having 20-30 people over (scheduled prior to the surgery moving up and she didn't want to cancel) so I'm picking up more of the cooking.

I wanted to deep fry a turkey but got vetoed.

So I'm spatchcocking one and roasting it on the grill/ smoker at about 425°. It'll get drybrined today along with baking powder. The other one will get injected with garlic herbs marinade and dry brined with something similar this afternoon.

Gonna start on the gallon of gravy the MIL requested tonight along with my variant of dressing.

My youngest brought home a kids cookbook with the idea he and i could make something so i told him to pick out a dessert and we'd do it.

It'll be fun, stressful but fun and should be good food.

Happy thanksgiving! Family is come down to our house for dinner. Going to jump in the woods for a couple hours this morning. Doing the bird on my traeger. Started using the traeger brine and pellets couple years ago and everyone loved it so I’ve done it ever since. Usually turns out pretty good.
Doing the same. Looking forward too the end results.
