So was doing an estimate for a pool liner today... Customer comes out with a sweatshirt with a liquor store logo on it... So wheels started to turn for Ric....... Asked if he ever gets Blanton's in??? His response was just got a case in yesterday... Hmmm how much I asked??? He said for you... $100.00 a bottle... So if any of you bourbon people want any, just give me a shout....

Secondary is $110ish
If you can find it in Ohio it's $65

I'm good but others may be interested.
Key word there is " if you can find it ".... This guy has a case... First price he gave me was $150.00.... I said nope no way they are paying $150.00....

Thanks for thinking of me Rich! It’s crazy what secondary prices are in some states! We’re headed to BT in future and hoping they set something good out when we’re there.
Yeh.... I'm beginning to see what a big difference prices are from state to state... That store is in Orange County N.Y. Kind of a pricey area with alot of people working in New York City....

It's capitalism but all the BT products are overhyped IMO
Two of my faves are the EHT small batch and the ER 10 year and are very much worth the $38-44, imo but to pay twice that knowing it’s being gouged, nah I’ll pass.
I highly recommend BT’s Benchmark bottles in Single Barrel, Small Batch, Barrel Proof and Bonded. All are $15-$25 range.

Now we are talking my price range... I'm happy with Evan Williams Honey...

Eagle rare used to be my favorite daily sipper until people went full retard with it. EHT small batch is good but I have others I prefer over it. I'm going to have to try some of the Benchmarks once I make some room in the liquor cabinet (closet).

The only 'hard to find/allocated' bottles I'm currently willing to spend money on are Booker's. Thankfully the markup to secondary on those isn't much (like $10-15) and I'm willing to pay rather than stand in a line. Now the older bottles can be worth something impressive and that's out of my "drinking" bottle price point.

The Benchmark stuff tasted the same as the regular BT to me. But I'm not an experienced whiskey connoisseur

BTW, hearing 10 year McKenna BIB SB and Elijah Craig Toast are dropping here and there this week. I’ve tasted both and EC toast is tasty. Goes $55/bottle. McKenna ($60)was good to but I’d buy the EC over it.

I had the McKenna when it was$35ish a bottle and some were amazing and others blech. I have a bottle of the EC toasted and it's yours if your want it, didn't do it for me, actually I'll trade your a benchmark for it.

Ric.... Still no Four Roses found... Guy today said he'd check on it for me... I also asked him about that ' Black Dirt Bourbon ' and he said it's pretty good and a big seller... We have quite a bit of pool work to do for him in April, so he may be a good contact.....

These are the guys ruining it for everyone else. Double your estimate like he is doing for everyone else.

I’d never pay secondary for any whiskey. The hunt and finding it on the shelf at retail price is the fun of it for me. At the end of the day it’s just booze not the Dead Sea Scrolls
Then you have these guys in IL....
