I'm sure I have some. Ironic @5Cent said the team sports shaped him. It was the opposite for me. Being poor to middle class in an affluent school district, you better have mega skills if Daddy didn't have money. It pushed me to wrestling in junior high, track all thru school, and cross country my junior and senior years. It taught me if you want it, you better earn it. Nobody to blame for your loss but the man in the mirror. It isn't a bad thing. It simply is what it is. Obviously I have team work ability and the military showed it. Funny how I am now self employed, and racing has been my go to whether motorcycles or now the trucks.

You guys made me go open a tote my mom put together for me a couple of years ago. Didn't find any old pics in it. Found an old trophy and some deer tags. Lol

Great idea! I’ll bite. First year pee wee, senior year high school, and college. Hopefully my girls stay away from douches like me lol. I’m a big advocate for team sports. As @5Cent mentioned, it shaped me and taught me a ton.

Like Adam, I had to open a storage tote in the basement that hasn’t seen light in several years. What a trip down memory lane.

The picture of me in glasses is a funny story. I was scheduled to start on the mound that afternoon against one of our conference rivals. It was a big game. I don’t remember who had what record going into that game, but it was a big one. @Bigcountry40 if you remember, Matt Maloney was on that team. He got one of their few hits against me that game, sending a line drive up the middle at Mach 7, almost taking my head clean off. Anyway, earlier that morning while in class, one of my contact lenses ripped. Knowing full well that it was my very last pair of lenses, I was in full panic mode. Thankfully I still had a pair of eyeglasses from 5th grade that I held on to. They barely fit my head, and I could barely see anything. I couldn’t even see the signs from my catcher. He fought for his life back there all game as I tried to decipher his inside leg taps. 😂. Got the win, hit a homerun that bounced off of Route 6, and had a go ahead sac fly. Not too shabby for a half-blind kid. 😂 (Disregard the cheesy sticker… mom made the scrapbook, not me. Lol)

James Brown! Awesome Jim

I'm not 100% convinced it's Ty Cobb, but as an older player he looks enough like him that I'm not sure. What I do know is this was in Bradford Pa. home of Zippo Lighters, Case Knives, Kendall Oil, Pennzoil, Wolf's Head ETC. Before that Lumber. There was major money there and those rich boys loved baseball and often paid players better than MLB back in the day.

I just figured out any pictures I find from my sports days will have to be posted in the Life in the 70's & 80's string...
I'll have to lay the Poloriod black and white 3" little squares out on a table, then get out an old box of Crayola Crayons with the sharpener in the side and "colorize" them. Then find a modern camera phone to snap some pictures. Then they will have to be emailed to my computer, transferred to photo shop and made bigger before being saved and then uploaded to this site. That's above my pay grade, so I'll need the help of an 8 year old. This may take a while since my GRANDCHILDREN WON'T BE VISITING TILL AFTER THE HOLIDAYS!! By then this will be an old topic and ya'll will think I'm trying to brag again or something, so...
