This is my life. .....

I saw a few more does, but nothing else. I decided to go home after a spell longer. After I got home , took my hunting pants off in the garage & went up to the bedroom to tell the wife of my morning, I looked out the window as I was talking & saw this buck walking thru the thicket behind my backyard blind. I screamed, my wife screamed & I ran out to the cabin to get the xbow & run after that sob .... lol

He went past my original blind I haven't used yet this year & I actually caught up & got the crosshairs on him for a 25 yrd ? shot. He didn't seem as big as I originally thought & then there was some brush between us.....

Seen 2 shooters yesterday evening 1 at 40 no shot and the other one was 65 . Told my younger son he needs to hunt with me this morning . So I put him 100 yrds from me In my tree stand and ide sit on the ground . He seen 2 big bucks 1 was to early and he couldn't make out the vitals so he didn't shoot . And the other one was to far away. When coming out spotted another nice buck chasing a doe . I've seen more action in 2 days than I've seen in 2 weeks . Eating lunch and heading back out .

Decoy is out. Not seeing any does. Some random bucks cruising and the bobsey twin button bucks.

As I was typing I had 7 antlerless that had been nudged by something move thru in a hurry. Stayed together. All appears to be smaller deer. No bucks in tow. Not downwind. I'm not moving. Maybe saw decoy and got nervous? Even so, something bumped them to see the decoy. Turned over can call once. Nothing. They moved from 60-80yds at the closest to moving away from me. At least I saw something.

I'll put in my guess. Shoot him and let us know. I think you're low. I'd say 211# on the hoof. Probably dress out pretty good.

Absolute disaster of a morning. I'm not sure where my bad deer hunting karma comes from, but it's about as bad as it gets...

Had my #1 buck walk by where I should have been yesterday evening, so I'm all pumped to get on that ridge this morning. Pull in and get a pic of him in the Corner Pocket headed N, so I wait 15 minutes to let him move on out. I get packed and am just about to roll out when my wife calls and says our oldest has pinkeye and it's not a good day for her to call off, so I load up knowing full well I'm about to leave the best conditions I've seen on the farm based on the last 36 hours of pics. Sure enough, I don't even get out of the property and get this pic of him 20 yards from where I'd planned to sit, which means I'd have called an audible and sat the Corner Pocket to avoid spooking him off the ridge.

So I go home, check on Kaydence, then head behind the house. Climb up, get situated, look at my bow and my peep is straight vertical in the string. Then it's not in my string...

So I climb down, go back to the house, reinstall my peep, go back to the stand, settle in and my phone vibrates. Borderline shooter in front of my stand in the Corner Pocket. 🤦

Now I'd probably pass that deer, but it's also the biggest deer I'd have had in bow range and I know my neighbors will shoot him, plus I'm ready for duck season, so I'd have at least picked up my bow!

Deer hunting is stupid. Remember that. Oh, and I've seen 5 so far, including a really nice 8 will 1" brows. He'd have been dead with better brows. Deer hunting is still stupid...
