Never read a book in my life. I can read them, I just don't retain very much. I think about other things in life if I read much past a paragraph.
have you thought about audio books? i listen to them daily in my drive to work. the app libby is free and uses your (or your wife or kids) library card

it's how i "read" 80% or more of the books i get through in a year, i honestly rarely listen to the radio anymore

198.7 lbs I need to make another goal. I figure without alcohol and gas station food I could stop the heartburn meds. So that starts today. See how that goes.

Last goal I was pretty silent about because even I wasn't sure how dedicated I was gonna be. It qas a grind and not enjoyable at all. So let's make this one more public. 175 pounds by the summer bash at my place. Late July so just over 7 months gives me a chance to trade some fat for bulk. I think 175 will be my end goal also.

About the time I last posted this my body/stomach started fighting back. Either that or a bug was going around as I heard of others having problems in the digestive track. Last couple of weeks have been rough on the digestive track. Finally getting back around and after a couple of days of cleaning out, I'm back to where I was 2 weeks ago. 199.2 a few minutes ago. Still putting one foot in front of the other during that time. I did have 2 beers last weekend with some wings.

@Mike, what are the Top 3 things you've noticed since your abstinence journey began?
Here's my top 4

Weight loss
Lack of inflamation in my joints
Better overall mood
No heart burn - off omeprazole for almost 1 full year

Along with the ketogenic diet and lack of alcohol, I feel my prostate health is slowly improving but time will tell.

Any discernable improvement in your sleep?

Great questions Jesse, and thanks Mike. I wish sleep was improved for you though, that was/is my biggest gain and as much as I hate the connection, it's helped me in my decision making over the last year when making decisions when/how much to drink. Nate, hope it does the same for you moving forward. Part of getting older and wiser I suppose lol.

Hope everyone's year is off to a good start in this arena. I'm still grinding on my end, still tweaking the weekly routines between weights and cardio to find a good mix.

The next 60 days focus is heavy on the diet and letting my body rest more. We hit the beach in late March and I want to be at 190lbs before we depart. After researching the best app to easily track calories, My Fitness Pal hit the mark 100%. Free, easy to use, and is compatible with the Garmin App.

I've backed off weight training the last month. Been focusing on cardio and body weight exercises with my daughter. We've been running 3-4 miles on her off days from soccer training. I really do enjoy running and it's much better now that I have my little buddy doing it too. I'll pick the weights back up soon as our schedules start to normalize. Keep grinding to those putting in work.

Ended the first month of the year down 7#s, but is a failure more than success. I did better with alcohol and food choice, but not good enough. I barely exercised, which is the real failure. The best thing I did was my hydration and supplementation. I know what I need to do and will continue to see incremental progress.
