I like Amish Bent and Dent stores! Bought me some Capers and some Anchovies recently! I've almost got my self talked in to tasting them one day too!
Funny you mentioned that cheese. We bought a couple of blocks so we can start grading our own again. We have the attachment for the kitchen aid and it is so much better than buying graded. Also doesn't have all the preservatives in it.I cannot imagine NOT shopping at Costco now. We save a fuckton of money buying bulk, even on name brand items like Kerrygold butter, Dawn dishwashing liquid, Tillamook cheese and a dozen other things that we use constantly. Kirkland brand whole bean coffees are outstanding, and priced right. Best coffee for the money, imo. Both the House Blend and French Roast are an excellent cup of joe. Got a great pair of prescription multifocal eyeglasses there last summer for half of what my optometrist wanted. Everyone who works there is always genuinely happy, friendly, and helpful too.
I've used the food processor to grate lots of cheese, but I usually just do it by hand as needed. Tillamook is good cheese. Always a block or two in our freezer along with a wedge or two of the good Parmigiano Reggiano. Nancy gets antsy when we don't have enough food here to feed 10 people for 6 months, lol.
We are the same way. Our next major purchase is going to be a freezer drier. I feel like we put entirely to much food in the trash can that could be preserved for a later date. Because she can't just make some chili, it's a barrel full. She cooks huge portions of everything.I've used the food processor to grate lots of cheese, but I usually just do it by hand as needed. I just smoked, sliced and froze some pork belly bacon from Costco a few minutes ago. LolWe also grabbed some pork belly to make bacon and some roast to make jerky. That isn't something you can do with any weight from a regular store. So it is great for those of you wanting to make foods like @Jamie
