Hunted the nwr today for ducks. Seen 7 but no shots. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. They live another day for now. Probably go sit the property or just cook at the camp. Not sure yet.

Just the tipYou better tip good then!!
Went to go deer hunt the property. Walked down to the gate and found this. Well shit I can’t post the pic. Saying file too large wtf? Anyway it would’ve been questionable but probably could’ve made it. It’s going down I could see where the water fell on the trees about 1.5”. I will cross it in the morning since it’s supposed to be 38 in the morning.
No joe, actually djs is here could’ve used his. I’m not that mad so in the morning it will be. My cams blew up at 4:30 pm till half hour after dark. I imagine 95% deer was on the field by that time and not on me. I will sit the middle stand since all the does and fawns are bedding close to the field. Looking for an old 8pt or just enjoy the hunt. I don’t know what changed on my photos where it had too big of a file but I did screen shot the pic and it worked thanks. You taking the boys this weekend? Should be good.
Take them both and kill two. You might be overthinking the situation. In the big picture you want them to love and respect the outdoors like we do. You have to start somewhere. Let him kill the first deer that shows up and let the oldest decide if the deer is the one he wants or wait for something bigger. Personally I think trophy hunting shouldn’t be part of the hunt w young kids. That hardship should come later . Being an outdoorsman, seeing a dead deer killed from a gun gives the kids a great perspective of what a gun can and will do. You will never have to worry if your boys pick up a gun alone. Talk about there is no second chances or taking the bullet back. Also respect for the game we are killing. It’s up to you, but I wouldn’t focus on size right now, that drive will come later when they are ready.
