According to my trail camera this is the same deer I spooked off walking in. Can't beat the power of acorns. He was munching them loudly, then tore up a little cedar just for the hell of it.

I'm in, first sit of the season. I remembered quickly why I haven't hunted mornings much the last couple years. I don't really have any spots where I can get in cleanly in the AM without bumping deer. Gonna sit and see what happens and enjoy my first hunt in quite a while.

I use to sell to local buyers, but they disappeared with the fur market or died. The best thing to do now is ship them to the fur auctions, where they continue to market the pelts until sold. Usually get better prices this way too. I have no clue what the price of a coon is this year. I'm sure...

Hes famous now, got what he wanted! Whatever his punishment is, it won't be enough. He should never legally hunt again. Not that it would stop people like this, but examples need to be made. Seems like the common denominator of the goons getting caught is they all have an IQ of a toilet seat...

I did the drone stuff last year, and this is all very relatable. I don't miss the games hunters play at all. In fact I grew pretty intolerant of them after just a month. Kudos to you for tolerating it and doing it for your own pleasure.

I'm out and about a lot and I have not smelled any EHD deer this year....yet. It's a pretty distinct scent.
