Gonna print this one off and add it to the Hall of Fame. I've contemplated a stand in this area for years, but it's a tough place to hunt with the swirling winds and elevation advantages the deer can get, but there was enough daylight movement here to justify finding a way to hunt it.

Call me some time to talk more about this, but a good buddy of mine had a similar situation in a bottom that flattens out - where he put a food plot. He continued to get pictures of great bucks in there but just could not hunt it as the wind swirled.

3 years ago he put a "blind turtle" type blind in there on a platform. He filled all the gaps in that sucker with expanding foam to make it as tight as possible.

He has since killed 2 great 4+ year-old bucks in there. Of course, he pays heavy attention to the wind direction on entrance but once he is down in there - he is lethal! As long as the access in is good.

I have 1 or two spots that are so similar and I NEED to follow suit. Just a thought worth sharing!

Hoping to "tag out" on this old girl. When their chest extends beyond their front legs, then rolls into their neck, they've seen a few things.

I started hunting these woods in 1999 and put my first cam back here in 2004. One thing I'm confident in is that from right about now, through Thanksgiving weekend, is when the big boys come looking for the last available does. We're an out of the way spot, so they need to be searching hard to stumble their way by us and that's just what this old boy was doing this morning.

I'm not certain, but it may be the big buck we watched from 2018-2020. He didn't show this summer, but it sure looks like him.

Gonna call him Carrot Top because he's rhe carrot that'll keep me coming back! I've never seen this deer until the weekend of gun season. He showed up again last night and I sure hope he likes what he found on The Farm w. No Name. He's got some serious potential.

It wouldn't be deer hunting if at least one buck didn't show up to give us anxiety about him surviving one more year.... hahaha! Nice One!

Time to tie a bow on this thread and move on the the '22-23 version of one of my favorite threads to dig up years later. One of the benefits of forums is the ability to catalog information in a way that's much more entertaining than doing it in File Explorer or Google Drive! I hereby document the jinxing of our luck with this deer... 😂

Kaydence has been obsessed with a deer she named Buddy back in the summer. He was a frequent flyer until mid-September, then he disappeared.

It's never supposed to be this easy when it comes to finding a shed or adding one more layer to a story that could get REAL interesting as summer begins to roll into fall!

The story of Buddy is officially, to be continued...
