2019 Turkey Season

I may go in the morning but lack motivation. I haven’t heard a bird the last three times I went. Late in the season can be great, but turkey hunting requires an early alarm

Bumped deer walking in. Snorted what seemed like 100 times...pretty sure i said out loud, please someone just kick me in the face.....heard one gobble on a ridge to far for me to chase due to work. Had frost this am. Wish i could of stayed longer...

Pulled into my cousins field at 9 this morning where i park and saw a hen with little poults.
This is the 4th year in a row i have seen poults the last week of our season.
That explains the no gobbling and seeing gobblers in groups again.
Gonna pull my blind today and do one last hunt down in S/E Ohio on Saturday with Cole.

I went out to do some recon for the kids. Only heard 2 gobbles way off. Late season is tough but if you can find a willing one it can be very exciting.

Hunting with preggers again. Got one hammering to every call but he is WAY off.

3 of them. Slowly working this way. Probably stop about 100 yards out to roost.

Got him within 100 yards of the property line, then he turned and went up hollow. Still a great time.

Didn't get to hunt . But drove by the property where Kai missed the longbeard Saturday evening and the bird was back out there . I'm sure it's the same one cause there is only one turkey there . Lol.
Probably try for a rematch Saturday .

Heard zero gobbles. I believe they are done and im probably as well. Hunted 21 mornings plus youth and its time to fish. Im very fortunate that i live where i hunt and have a job and boss that let me come in late multiple days. Both kids killed a bird and i blew a shot on one. Its been another fun spring.

I listened this morning and didn't hear anything . Gonna listen tomorrow at the place Kai missed . I have no idea where that bird roosts at .

Where you here a bird gobble their is someone else that hears it also and if they hunt you will not be alone in the woods. Worked a good one till 8:30, had him within 70yrds and then someone else moved in to and we both didn't walk out with him..... Still love to hear them gobble!!!!

Yep,Same deal here.Never heard the guy call once,was working 2 birds and boom All over but a hen yelping.

Nice morning out . Trying for the only turkey around here again. Probably should of went to a higher population area but figured we'd try here those morning and see what's happening . It's the closest spot to the house where I have been seeing anything . Wasn't sure about driving down to Richland county and winging it although at least there's multiple birds there at least .

Kai is curled up on the ground trying to get some ZZZZZZs while we wait.

Well thats a wrap for me this season,tried to get another one with the recurve but didn't happen,had fun going out with Cole several times and he came so close to getting his first bird on one hunt but maybe next year.
We have some new areas... well new to him we are gonna try,took him to some of my old stomping grounds and showed him where i cut my teeth on turkey hunting back in the 80s and 90s around Tar Hollow and Salt Creek area,really pretty country down there.
I figured after seeing a hen with poults this week they were pretty much done where i hunt but we still had fun today.
Overall had a really fun season and finally shooting one with my recurve made the whole season for me.
Looking forward to next season hopefully getting Cole a bird,we will have fun hunting them regardless.
Now time to move on to other things like fishing and getting my minerals freshened up.
