Not an option. It’s the freaking decoys. I was set up just off the crest of a hill the other day and he marched right into my set up. He stopped where he could see the dekes, just behind too much brush to shoot. His hen comes into the dekes and flogs em... he just won’t. If I get up tomorrow, I’ll leave the dekes at home and just call him in. That hasn’t been a problem, comes gobbling all the way in. I bet if he doesn’t see decoys, he keeps marching.

Because I’m off with a tag in my pocket, I’m in a box blind. Made it before the rain. It’s actually decent out at the moment and possible that I could hear something on the roost. I’m looking for one certain bird and have no intentions to try calling. Undecided if I will shoot another bird if the possibility arises. He’s gonna have to put on a show.

Three jakes just came by. I left the decoys at the truck. Hoping old loudmouth rolls up here soon. Heard him gobble a long way off, right on schedule.

I have yet to get out. I should be able to hunt this weekend tho just don't know where I'm gonna end up. Wherever I go I will be going in blind and hoping for the best.

Well, now that I have a free moment. This last week has been great! Barely any gobbling but, didn't stop the group from laying em down.

My oldest, Lucas shot his third turkey @6 years old. He's a slayer and I'm so proud of him!
My girlfriend and I went out opening day and doubled after a group of 8 longbeards came in.
I got to go out with my good buddy Mark, who got me into turkey hunting and called a bird in for him. I can't be happier! Now to hopefully get a bird to cooperate for a buddy of mine who just started hunting and feed his addiction as well!!

Brian and I had an awesome hunt this morning. Got in on a late morning bird. Brian worked him for about an hour when a hen showed up. Brian started sweet talking her and brought her in on a rope. Unfortunately for this gobbler he followed and that’s all she wrote. Very thankful for the calling efforts on the first bird. It’s been a 3 year effort with some awesome hunts in between.
