12th annual rut report.

What county and what conditions are you seeing?

Athens County seen a few small bucks seeking this week. Obviously the ladies aren’t interested quite yet.

2 yr old pestered a young doe in Allen County two days ago. Saw 8+ deer tonight without a buck in sight. I'm sure there are some does being bred but it doesn't seem crazy at the moment.

Haven’t seen anything in person yet. New 1.5-3.5 year old bucks showing up on cam almost daily now. No chasing seen yet.

The last few days, while at Strouds have been explosive back home for my cams. Bucks everywhere .....

I'd love to have seen what had him riled up ....

Saw 7 deer that had been hit by cars from the NC state line to the house, about 50 miles. So I would say things are heating up in NC.

This one got hit on 280 a few hundred yards from where I hunt. Thought he was old enough to know better. Saturday morning.

I was in a great stand for observation tonight. Had a couple bucks on their feet checking does tonight. Slight pushing. Even the 3yr old chased a for a little. Nothing crazy but a little more active.
