Really? Who's that? My older brothers graduated in 81 and 87 so we know quite a few people.

Tim Maloney. I went and watched him play as a JV quarterback back in 82 or 83, not sure if he ever really got an opportunity at the Varsity level. I think he graduated im 84. His sisters were Julie and Kelly. They graduated in 86 and 87.

Dang Jesse! You're on fire!!!! Good for you.... glad you're still having fun playing.

It's been a blast playing again! In all honesty, if I was sucking ass, I would have hung it up. The competition is getting better each year with the addition of more and more college kids playing, and in all reality, a lot of us old guys can still play. Case is point is a 63 year old, over weight, former drunk who plays for the team we beat Friday. The dude never, I mean NEVER, does anything but put the bat on the ball! He hit a upper 70's curve ball off my best pitcher last week that would have been a double (even for him) had it not been for a great grab from our left fielder. If you saw him warm up, you would think he was a liability. But if I had to put together a 15 man roster from the best players in our league, I'd make a case for including him. His ability to put the bat on the ball puts him in the top 5-10 players in the league. There are a few other 35+ guys that can flat ball. It's often the young hot shots you get shown up, not us old timers!!!

Just being on the field again is on par with being in a tree stand on a crisp November morning. Baseball was my first passion/obsession in life. I turned to bowhunting after losing baseball and needing to fill that competitive gap in my life. Rekindling the passion has been a great time. Like we talked at the camp out, I struggled for years with the thought of: "Did I screw up by not playing in college?" I have no doubts now that I made the right call as an unsure 18 year old kid. (With proper guidence from my old man of course!) I wasn't cut out for organized ball at the next level. My love of the game is different than guys that ride the wave as far as possible. This adult league is baseball at it's best IMO from a playing stand point. It's legion ball for old guys!!! LOL!

Man that sounds like a blast! I really wish they had a league like that around me. I am usually a pretty busy guy, but if there was a men's hardball league nearby I think I'd have to make the time to play. Damn, I miss being on the mound...

Well, cut the damn leash and come down here one weekend we have a game! LOL! We'll drink beer, play golf, shoot shit, and play some ball. You'll get the nod on the mound and I'll be behind the plate!

Only if I can play some first or thirdbase TOO! I still take BP with the players. Don't worry, I can still drive gaps. Running might be an issue though... bad hammies. :tantrum:

Nice TreeMonkey!

I've got tickets to the sold out Indians v. Yankees game on July 4th! Pretty pumped to go to that one! Bought the tickets several months ago. I saw the Pirates a month or so ago, so this will be my second mlb game this year. I need to check out some of the farm teams in this area.

The July 4th Indians/Yankees game should be awesome Huck!

If you are ever up in the Toledo area the MudHens usually have a great team and a pretty sweet stadium as well. Walking distances from the bars and hotel, I suggest making a night out of it! :smiley_beer:

June has been a great month of baseball for my family. We went to the Sunday game at Pittsburg when they played the Mets and we sat in the Lexus seats behind homeplate (scored the tickets off a vendor at work).
My boy and his buddy

The next Sunday we went to the Reds vs Blue Jays game. We got there a bit early and was going to check out our seats in the 426 section when a man in a suit and tie stopped us and offered us the best seats in the house.

Awesome family weekend.

Are those Lexus seats awesome or what!?!?!? The wife and I sat there a few years ago against the Cards. We sat right next to then owner Kevin McClatchy. I couldn't believe how big Pujols was that up close. I had my feet up on the brick wall the whole game just chillin. All you can eat and drink (besides beers). Just a great experience.

Im not a big Pirate fan but I'll have to say the Lexus seats are awesome. I really like PNC park and we are going back and sitting behind 3rd base in August when they play the Reds. They do alot for the kids before a game on Sunday, which my kids took full advantage of.

They started forming a line early that day and by the time we found the end of the line the one guy said it would an hour and forty-five minute wait. Maybe this time they will get an early start and get to run the bases, the longer lines might be due to the Pirates playing better ball this year.

I'm stoked! My Buccos are above .500 on July 4 for the first time since 1999. They are 3 games over and only 1.5 out from the Cards. Forgive my excitement, but it's been a loooong time since I've had anything to look forward to in regard to Pirate baseball.
