I may come out of retirement Sunday. The new firm my wife works for also owns a radio station in Wheeling. The younger guys in the firm are on a softball team and may need a player. They're asking the old man! I can feel my hammies tightening as I type.

We did it! The Misfits are the 2011 Mid-Ohio Valley Adult Baseball League champs!!! :pickle:

We won a hard fought 5-2 game last night proving we have the best pitching and defense to go with the all around best team in the league. This was my fourth year playing in this league and the first time with a winning record. I'm not used to losing on the baseball field, so the first two years were really rough for me. I took over the team last year and we had a good year, we just had trouble getting all our good players at the same games. This year was a totally different story! We finished 10-3 on the season, beating the No. 2 and 3 seeds in the tournament. After taking the regular season title and the tourney championship, I think we sent a message that the Misfits are a crew to be reckoned with!!!

I finished the season hitting just under .500 with 17 RBI's, 4 walks, and 4K's. The loss of 40 pounds made a big difference in my defense and I caught as well this season as I did a decade ago. I even pulled a little magic out of my ass last night when I threw out the fast guy in the league trying to steal second! So the baseball Gods were obviously on our side when that shit starts happening! All in all, I threw out 3 of the 4 runners attempting to steal on me and I picked off one guy at 3rd this season.

Baseball was my first passion in life and I still love the game almost as much as I love hunting. But the end of the season signals the start of another season I love even more! It feels great to finish the summer on top, I just hope I can keep that feeling going through my deer season!!!

That's not sweat on my arms, it's the Busch heavys we celebrated with!!! :smiley_clap:

And yes, I was a tight end in high school! Tall, slow, with good hands. That makes a great tight end!!! LOL!!!
