Tough one. Lost 5-4 in 8 innings. K'd too much and left too many runners on. Played great D until one miscue ended it. With two outs in bottoms of the 8th, and winning run on third, ground ball to SS and he air mailed it over first. We should've never been in that situation though if we just got one key hit in any of the previous innings. We also couldn't get two sac bunts down that may have changed the game. Tough one to take.

That is a tough one. Bet your SS feels like crap. Is your season over now?

Season is over. It was a very disappointing one. First time in 14 years we haven't had double digit wins. Tough one to take, that's for sure. We graduate 4 seniors. None of them hit over .215 so, although great kids, we should be able to at least match their production. Lol

Still trying to get game 2 played today. I haven't looked at the field yet. I'm guessing its too wet and will cancel yet a third game this week.

I'm collecting rained out make up days, three so far.

We ended our 4 game week tonight with our 3rd straight win 4-3 in 8 innings. We are now 6-6 with 4 games left before playoffs. Boys are starting to get it and I think we have a shot at a top 8 seed and a home playoff game. This week we did a salute to our local veterans by wearing camouflage hats with our school logo to support Operation Hat Trick. Our AD is a vet and he set it up so we had a veteran throw out the first pitch at both our home games. This was promoted statewide and 64 schools had their baseball and softball teams wear these hats. It was a great thing to be a part of and a lot of money was raised for a good cause. If you get a minute go to www.operationhattrick.com. It's a good charity and you can get some cool hats TOO.

Good stuff AJ!

We finished up Tuesday with a 8-7 loss to #1 seed Jackson. Its a game we could have won had we got at least one good break. Never got one and we had a couple missteps. We made them work for it, so that's a plus.

I'm enjoying my free time now before junior legion kicks off. That should be a ton of fun.

Nice AJ! Good luck the rest of the way.

Today Kody has a pony game against a Steubenville team. I told him if he doesn't win he is walking home. That's at 12:30. Then Klay plays at home at 3:00 against their league rival. Gonna be a fun day at the ballfield.

I gave our HS kids a week off and then summer ball practice starts soon. One of my old players is the head coach for the summer team with a few other old players that help when they can. They play everyday in June minus Sundays. Should be good instructional tool. This is for the kids who aren't quite good enough for legion ball yet. Most of my team. Lol

Even though it's not baseball I figured I'd put it up here anyways. My daughter's HS softball team won their tournament over the weekend. Was tough for most of the games but their pitcher was spot on this weekend!

Friday we lost 15-0 and yesterday lost 24-1.

I'm actually surprised we are making 3 outs per inning on defense, it takes 10 batters but we are doing it.

Our problem is batting. I have two boys that automatically strike out 3 times per game. I need to adopt them for a week.

Playing a big, bad 8 year old team tonight that's been together for 3 years now.

Our girls finally play their first game tomorrow. We have been practicing for 2 months and its time to play ball. Andrew's team finally won their first game tonight and I missed it due to work.

Our girls lost their first game yesterday 13-6. They played well and I was very proud of them considering most of the other team was twice the size of most of our girls. We were also missing 3 of our "big guns". We play again tonight and I'm hoping the rain holds off! Andrew also has a game tonight that my wife and I will have to miss due to coaching our daughters team.

Daughter's team won both games last night of their DH against 'the school to beat', 1-0 first game and 2-0 second game. She was both runs that scored in the second game which makes me happy, happy, happy!! My son's team did pretty well last night until the last inning. Were winning and ended up losing 8-5. Too many passed balls and walking with the second pitcher in to finish the game.

We won both our games last week so we have now won 5 straight and are 8-6. We have 2 games left in our regular season with the first one tomorrow. Win one and I'm pretty sure we get a top 8 seed and a home playoff game. Win both and we could finish as high as 5th. Of course I now had another kid inform me this week he's going to miss time to take driver's ed. He's my #3 pitcher and starting 3rd baseman. He missed practice today so he's benched tomorrow. I'm pretty sure he's going to miss more so I'm probably going to be forced to bench him for some if not all of our playoff games. Kids and their parents have no sense of commitment these days. Letting down your friends and teammates means nothing anymore. It drives me nuts.

We won our first Friday night 8-6, then we played on Memorial Day against an 8 year old team, a respectable loss at 13-10.

Some of my non hitters are now getting a couple hits. It's nice seeing our hard work paying dividends.

Well we finished our regular season last week at 8-8. I was hoping for a little better than .500 but considering all we've had to deal with that's not bad. We got seeded 9th out of 16 for the state playoffs and play at Gorham on Thursday in the first round. We split with them in the regular season so it should be a good game. I'll be missing my stud closer due to an arm injury so I'm going to have to hope my junk baller can get the job done. He's a good pitcher with a nice deuce but doesn't throw hard at all. I loved having him start and then bring in my fireballer for the last two innings but now that he's hurt we have to go to plan B. I have 2 other pitchers I can use but they don't have a ton of experience. Should be interesting. We lost in the finals last year and I lost 5 seniors from that team. Most people thought we'd be horrible this year but I thought we'd compete. My starting lineup has 2 freshman, 3 sophomores, 2 juniors and 2 seniors. We are young so the future looks good. I'd just like to win a playoff game or two and give all the nay-sayers a nice big shitburger to eat (I think that's from Major League).
