I lost some faith in "the program" tonight. Just got off the field... Had one girl snap an ankle on home plate after multiple girls slipped. All over a $4 trophy playing a team we've beat the bricks off of 4 times this season. Not impressed... Foods cooking and it's off to bed for this family.

I'm bragging.... you don't want to read it, don't. 
Mason has been practicing with the reserve baseball team. He was pissed that he didn't make varsity right from the start of the season but our varsity is loaded up pretty well this season, which is a good thing. He's a freshman, there is still work to do, but having watched the varsity boys, I knew he could hang with any of them....
The JV squad was supposed to have their first game today. it was cancelled. About 930 the varsity coach called to see if Mason wanted to play. Well... yeah.
The first game did not go well. Down 9-2 due to one bad inning. They run Mason out to pitch the 7th. He does well. 3 up 3 down. Take a break between games and the coach tells me he is going to start Mason. So I'm good with that. Kid needs the work it's been too wet to get outside much...
He winds up throwing 7 innings of shutout baseball, walking only 2 and issuing several K's though I don't yet know how many. They won 4-0 with a 14 year old on the mound... my 14 year old! Proud dad moment for sure!
That was one heck of a fun afternoon of baseball!

Proud Papa moment for sure Brock.
I'm sure I'll have a few tales to tell over the summer as well.
My 10 year old team has been practicing indoors since Feb.
Our league divided our teams out with more equality this year so I have some new developmental players to develop.
Our State bound team of previous years will now struggle making it....but we'll have fun trying.
