BATFE attempting to ban a common ar15 ammo

I'm not trying to claim that I do, because I don't either. But I used to have plenty of access to lots of body armor and out the test to a lot of it. The .22 would be the round I'd pick....took 7 panels to stop it. When a single panel will stop most pistol rounds. 300 win mag was stopped in 5 panels.
 
Not true anymore. Used to go through the Kevlar vests. The new ESAPI and other armor stops it. Especially since most is used with a trauma plate.

Molded Dyneema and ceramic is where it's at now.

Agreed. Problem is that most police officers use Kevlar.

ESAPI/green plates are plates, I was more talking about under the shirt vest.

This was also a few years ago when I had my store. I'm not sure what the market is doing now with body armor. I hope they finally came up with something that doesn't break down with sweat. As much as that new vest sucks to break in, it's much safer than one that's broken in.

The real question in all of this to me is...what the fugg is the government doing that they are worried about people having ammo with these capabilities?!
 
Even today's Kevlar is made differently than it used to be. It will stop .22lr. Especially since trauma plates are a must now for most. They keep knives from being effective and reduce blunt force injuries.

.22 is a great round for a SHTF scenario. Very low recoil allowing a faster recovery which means more rounds accurately on target. With high capacity detachable mags its a good fit both defensively and offensively. If someone rips off 10-15 rounds of .22lr in your direction, you're not going to care that it was just a 22 and not a 223. All that matters is you're getting shot at. A bunch.Defensively, if you hit a guy with a .22 he's seriously going to reconsider whatever it was he's doing. Its highly unlikely he's just going to brush it off and say "it's just a 22 wound". It's also very portable. 500 rounds in each cargo pocket and you're carrying 1000 rounds with ease. Another 1000 in a backpack and you're moving with 2000 rounds in your possession. Can't do that with .223. The .22 in a survival situation is also very versatile. You can take everything from very small game to deer. Poachers do it all the time. It's not loud and likely won't draw attention. IMO in a SHTF situation a good .22 is far better than an AR.
 
This is nothing more than our government trying to render us helpless. They couldn't ban the gun so ban the ammo. This whole thing stinks bad!
