Pounding that beaver this year! I'm gonna stay out of this baby oil and beaver talk...foreplay and a good tool seems to work just fine for me.

Caught another nice beaver today, that castor i mixed up sure brings them in.
Dale is getting this one tanned,he is going to have a nice fur bundle when we finish up,he said he has learned alot the last couple of weeks.
Rick i didn't add anything to the castor, figured i would use it up before season ends, going to save the castor out of this one i caught today and mix it up in the blender.

It is a gland on the beaver, the beaver sacs contain a yellowish liquid that they scent mark with when they secrete it.
I just save them when i catch one but you can buy beaver cator lure to use also.

That's a good looking beaver...I honestly have been around trapping for quite some time but don't know to many guys who trap beaver as the seasons are usually short in PA and NY. Is there a good market around them or do you keep most of the pelts for around the house?

Caught a big male yote today, this set is close to where i am catching the beavers,i set this one 6 weeks ago when i started, just shows you how no matter what the weather the snares will always work for you.
This yote was a muddy mess but i rinsed his hide off in the creek,he was another big male that stood his ground with a stare down,i believe if i stepped inside his circle he would be a biter.lol
I have also been saving some beaver tails for Milo to use on his bows he makes.
Gonna finish up in about 2 weeks, got alot going on at work and want to start shed hunting so will wrap up a little early this yr.
I do feel like i have put a big dent in the yote population in my hunting area and can really tell once the fawns are born as the last two yrs it seems like at least 90% or more survive.
