The truck is packed. I mean completely packed. It’s crazy how much crap I have stuffed in there. We are leaving sometime tomorrow morning. Steve headed up to camp today. He will hunt tomorrow, opening day. I hope he kills one first thing. He’s shot a good number of elk on opening day. Another old trucking buddy of his is heading out to join us. I’ve not met him that I can remember but Steve claims we’ve crossed paths before. He’s an experienced elk hunter as well.
I opted not to buy a tag initially and I have no intention of getting an elk. However, bear tags for nonresident hunters are only 100 bucks and that includes a fishing license. Steve sees a good number of bears some years, so I’ll buy a bear tag I’ve never killed one and don’t have a great deal of desire too, but for 100 bucks I can’t see a reason not to have a tag.
I think we’re about to have one heck of an adventure fellas.
