On the flip side, this cheap Stealthcam has been really cool as my first dip into the pond. It was free, don't think I would buy one since I don't have a need, but it has been flawless since deployed in late spring. $8/month.
Awww, don't let that scare ya Dave...lol. I can't explain why my Reveals have done that because they have been rock solid these past years. Pretty much any of these can & will have hiccups. Once you start getting pics sent, you'll never want to walk out to change a card again.

Good news on my Reveal issues. The new 2.0 reverted back to correct time & date annnnnnd , my SK was operator forgetfulness. I forgot I actually set it in pic only mode ....

I am in the market for a couple of tacticam cameras. I don't need the latest and greatest. I need one that'll perform year after year. Cell service is marginal at best so I know it'll eat batteries all the same. I just haven't had good luck with any other brands I have purchased. So if someone sees a sale, please post it for me and everyone else wanting to purchase. I am guessing it is about time for the née product line for this year to be released. So I'm fine with the "out with the old" product.
This is about as cheap as I’ve seen them. No complaints with mine, going strong for over a year and a half now. I got the solar panel for it as well.

They are a small company with a good product and payment plan and great customer service! Selling like hot cakes! Check out McFaddens in Bainbridge. The new gen 2 is the one you want. I like it over the lite model. The best deal is the guy on rt 41, Rack Attack outfitters but he's probably sold out. He as the best price on cameras and SD cards. He's a good dude also

Get the solar panel and security box. I haven’t put batteries in my Tactacam in over 2 years….get pics almost daily.
Also, sign up for their emails….they have sales going on constantly.
What solar panel you go with, George? Just ordered a tactacam and was going to start looking at them.

Looks like cabelas has the X Gen 2 for $100 and I finally have a day off. Lol. Today could be the day! Might have to stroll over to the Henry section as well...
Tactacam byer beware ! There's different reasons why I really enjoy my tactacams & one of them is that they will send videos as soon as you request. They're 15 sec videos we know. When the new 3.0 came out, featuring 30 sec video, I had to jump on that ! I ordered last Sat & it arrived the very next day. Anyhoo .... what I unfortunately found out, rather quickly, is that it won't send a video when requested until the NEXT camera activation UNLESS, you subscribe to their " extra " plan. That plan , though kinda neat, is an extra $9.00 a month. It will cover ALL of your tactacams & will send unlimited, even multiple pics if you have a cam set for it....so even my gen 1 will send , say 2 pics at a time for each occurance. They advertise that the plan will send HD pics & videos, but in reality , only pics have the HD ability, at this time.
I sent the cam back & got another 2.0. The $5 plan for 50 videos is good enough for me & could last a couple seasons. Oddly enough , I did try the extra plan for a day or two before switching back & I didn't get charged anything . The cams I set for that are still sending me multiple pics for each capture. My new monthy charge for all my cams thru & it wasn't on there ....
