Chased some bunnies today

I'm a little pissed right now, but family first... I guess. Was planning on heading out today after my son's basketball game this morning. Got a text late yesterday evening from my sister in law asking me to help her move stuff out of her house today at noon (that's when she rented the moving van). Nothing like last minute notice to ruin a great day of bunny hunting!!!

Thats a great pic cotty!!!! Went out today and kicked a couple up. The first one took off straight away across the snow full blast and moving like a football player dodging tackels going for the end zone!!! Three shots out of the benelli and he was still running. I laughted out loud and was glad i was by myself because my buddys would have been giving me hell for that one. Man that rabbit had some moves lol!!!! Went back to the same pile and another on took off but i must of got warmed up enough on the one i missed and connected on that one!!! Enough snow melted off that i can get back out again but one yote snare is still under a drift.
It's nice too be able too laugh at yourself GT..... Means we don't take ourselves too seriously...... rotflmao
Heading out too pick up the girls and then heading over too Sam's place too get him then off too the bunny woods hopefully they'll cooperate today.... Snows moving in this afternoon so hopefully they'll be up and feeding before it....
Lots of good runs today just not a lot of good shooting lol.... 8-9 runs some good some not so good dropped one rabbit and Sara wasn't sure I should have it or not so I made her drop it so I could field dress it lol....
Last run of the day we thought the girls were tired and back tracking it and yeah they were right and we were wrong it busted out just like the girls wanted it too lol.... So I offered an apology in the form of an extra couple of treats lol....
All in all it was a good day in he field with a good friend too enjoy it with..... We got some exercise the girls got plenty of exercise so it was a win... win lol....
Got home made some sloppy joes with ground venison and washed it down with a couple of yeunglings and relaxing on the couch next too my bride....

It was a good time. Seems like the bunnies we have today are smarter then they used to be. I guess the last couple of decades of increased predators has weeded out the dumb ones.

After the dogs being housebound all week long (darn having to work anyway), I am so looking forward to getting them out tomorrow. BUT 3-5 inches of snow forecast overnight. It was 1-3" forecasted this morning. I liked that a lot better. Not sure if I am going to carry a gun or not, but I'll at least get the dogs out for a bit. I've got a 3 day weekend. Hope to do some squirrel hunting Sunday or Monday weather dependent.
