Stealing this from OGF, I too think everyone who goes out onto ice should watch!
I have gone thru ponds and into the bay more times than I care to admit. Most being ankle to waist/shoulder and close to floor and atleast one buddy around. Young and dumb.

Im going Saturday to Indian Lake Reservoir with a buddy. I have never been ice fishing in my life, I am really excited.
They are crushing the Saugeye, Crappie, and Bluegill there now
As far as what? That was open water yesterday and forecasted temps are in the 50s. I would head to Saginaw Bay or a local pond. I don't see Erie being accessible any time soon.
Is that out of meinkes?

Metzger Marsh pier. I was surprised to see that much ice since it's been blowing 25 plus out of the south West for three days straight.
That's where my grandfather docked his boat, I thought that was the MM pier. I've only launched out of there once back in the glorious 2014 season.
I'm with you on the ice present, I figured it would be out to Canadian waters by now...
