It's awarded after the conference championship games because there never used to be 65 bowl games and usually the season was over on mid November, save for a couple bowl games to be played 6 weeks later. I've got no problem with QB's winning it. They usually are the most important and dynamic player in a team sport. Young is the first ever Alabama QB to win it. IMO, I think he deserved it. He would be the #1 pick this year if he was old enough. Dude is scary goodStill scratching my head how Young is the best player in the entire country. Lol
Might as well have given the past 12 Heismans to every QB Bama had starting! Lol Exception of the years they lost of course.
and another thing, why aren’t ALL individual awards determined AFTER the bowl games so their performance in a game with much more on the line plus against a good team are factored in? What if a Heisman recipient threw 4 picks and lost a fumble in the bowl game, shouldn’t that be counted? Also if these guys are a finalist after the season maybe they’d play in the bowl game so they could win that award to add it to their resume’.

I will say it would have been a different game if Williams did not get hurt. Would it have been enough for Bama to repeat the SEC championship game? Who knows it is very difficult to beat the same team twice in such a short period of time. In this game GA was the better team. They deserved the NC. Go Dawgs! Sic em!

I'm just happy that my team isnt so disappointing that my happiest moment this season is a different team lost. Not even a rival, just some random team from a different conference. It's true that jealousy is earned I guess. Cant win em all, but winning most of em ain't bad.
