Yeah and all the other confrences had to do was whine enough to get practically every rule changed to give them a chance. From a zero penalty transfer portal, 12 team playoff, and shady pay to play NIL roster building scheme. Way to go, for sure something to be proud of and well "earned" indeed.

College football is no longer about recruiting a high-school kid, developing them for years with great coaching, building a winning team of teamates and driving for a meaningful title. Now it's about how many people and businesses they can get to put money in the university ran NIL collective so they can go buy players from other teams. Nothing but a big male soap opera now just like the NFL.

The SEC is crying the loudest about NIL, because now everyone has NIL. SEC has had the biggest TV money for years, and they were smart enough to have their own under the table NIL. Back room deals where everyone keeps their mouth shut, everyone makes money and wins games. Meanwhile the Big 10 is too busy ratting each other out, and losing recruits.

Two ways to have some parity: everyone plays by the same rules, or strict control of recruiting, the first one is easier to implement.

So glad to not have to listen to the SEC fans year after year claiming superiority. Sabin left because he knew the gig was up. By the way,Sabin is a truly entertaining guy, love to have a drink with him.

We are in uncharted waters though and some adjustments will have to be made down the road. It’s still going to be the schools with the deepest pockets and savvy boosters at the top instead of just one particular conference now. IMO

I don't guess I should mention that there's still an SEC team in the playoffs... There might not be one tomorrow, but beware of what you put out there in the universe. Lol.

Texas has and will always be near the top because of the large amount of football talent at the HS level, strong fan base and plenty of wealthy boosters to make sure they have a quality head coach and talented players. Regardless what conference you would put them in they were still going to be where they are now and being in the SEC had nothing to do with it. They have near the same amount invested in their players as OSU and stand just as good of chance to win the Natty as well.

All of that may be true, but if they win, the SEC will claim them and their win. That was the point I was making.
