Any tip for keeping critters out of curb side trash bags. My trash guy wants them out the night before pickup.
That's part of the reason I don't put my shit out at the curb until the morning of. Plus people are assholes and wind could knock them over.
I thought of doing that but i,m on a busy state highway with deep ditches - not much roomLike Dave mentioned could you build a box or crate of some sort they would take the trash from? Several up here with those just off the driveway/road.
Neighbor does that with a small trailer across the road. Couple trash cans and all their bags piled on the night before. Every so often they have a mess as it isn't enclosed.Dan can you attach a cart too the lawn mower and take up too the road?
I'm old too. I live where we get 100" to 200" of snow a year. Unless it is deep they will roll or drag or slide. I sometimes have to run the snow blower to cut the path. You usually got a 24 hour window. Now that it is just me and the Misses we got big enough wheel cans we can wait a week if needed. It beats re bagging. The next door neighbor has 200' of gravel drive and he is 80. He gets it out, sometimes in the bed of his p/u or he hooks the handle to the hitch and rolls it out that way!Yep think i will start doing that - just get up early - my drivesay is 150 ft. Long so I can't manage one of them wheeled carts in the winter - j put it in the car trunk and drive it down to the road - dang i tried amonia, bleach, double bag n - mint bags - nope - got a overgrown brush field across the road - think its coons - maybe yotes - too old for this shit
Going to put it out in the the morning and see how that works - thanks for the ideasNeighbor does that with a small trailer across the road. Couple trash cans and all their bags piled on the night before. Every so often they have a mess as it isn't enclosed.
IMO, removing food waste is the best way to prevent this if you're left with only placing bags out the night before. Like Dave, we burn all our burnables, the chickens eat the raw, non-meat food scraps, the dogs eat cooked leftovers, and we recycle. As a family of 4, we produce 1 or 2 13-gallon trash bags a week. We rent a big trash can from Rumpke for $2 a month and fill it every 2-3
Yes i use to have a set up like yours - but not farm n any more - we got open burning regs and stuff had to get a permit to burn brush and fire department had to get approval from EPA and do it as training - in the past i just did it my self - this county is going regulation nutz - recycle what i can at local recycle center - thanks for your reply
Thanks i have Republic now but if your drive is over 100 ft they have to send a supervisor out to see if they will provide the service - so i requested a inspection zz worth a shot - thanksDan, talked too a buddy who works for Republic…. He said they offer a “backyard service“ they’ll pick up the cans where you store them. Service is a little more, but you’ll have less issues with the critters and time for cleaning up after them…. You can call them and ask about it….
Negative with Republic because on state highway - checking with 2 other outfitsThanks i have Republic now but if your drive is over 100 ft they have to send a supervisor out to see if they will provide the service - so i requested a inspection zz worth a shot - thanks
