Thinking about building some hunting blinds. Ones that will last way longer than Giles at the stripper club!😂

Metal roof metal sides one and done will last forever!

Could be as fancy as a person wants but basic for most.

What do y’all think a decent price is?

The industry is crazy on prices and I’m not really impressed with anything!

Nor the price!

I don’t find it hard to replicate at a cheaper price.

What I’m thinking and have done is the blinds will last way longer than me . One and done.

Now I know there are pros out there that say not possible . For me I nod my head and say yes!

IMG_20241005_182601648_HDR.webp I built one from roof job extra scraps. It's insulated and blacked out inside now. Got about sixty dollars in hinges plexy glass windows, and spray foam. Just build one and see how much time and money you got in it, might end up full time easy inside job for you or just play money .....a guy down the road started building nice octagon wood blinds and selling a lot of them. I think he sells to dealers and they put their brand name on them not sure as they have to be outrageous. But to your point I'd hate to pay thousands for a box. Mine won't last a lifetime but I should get many years for sixty dollars and a few evenings pieces it together...I have enough scrap for a single person model I'll get to some day.

I have nothing to contribute other than a comfortable blind is really nice to hunt from. Maybe Ben @Buckmaster will throw up a picture of the elevated blind at his hunt camp and give you some feedback.

Remember, looks don't really matter, no shame in mix and match Substrates- weather proofing is more important use of $$ resources. (I guess i did have something to contribute)

We only hunt out of stationary ones like pictured above by md1 at the farm in PA. They have been there for many, many years with minor repairs here and there. All made with scrap. If we see someone replacing windows in their house we ask them to save their old ones for us and have gotten a few from garage sales. Each has had minor repair work over the years from weather and porcupines. They all now have tin roofs (from an old printing shop the patriarch owned). I'd venture to say some are pushing 50 years old. We priced out what it would cost to build with all new lumber. If memory serves me correctly we were looking at $500ish.
