Custom turkey strikers

I'm going to a local lumber yard in the morning. They sell all kinds of exotic wood. If anyone is looking for anything in particular that you want a striker made out of let me know. Price would depend on the price of the wood.

When you get around to cranking out some on that Hackberry chunk I gave ya I'll buy one off ya! :pickle:

You are doing a great job on these Chad!:smiley_clap:

I'd think the integrity of it being spalted would play a roll in how it turned and sounded. I think I have both in the garage though. I'll also take a look in my old mans stash this weekend.
I was thinking the same. I have seen spalted wood that's really soft and spongy, and the piece of spalted maple Beener gave me is harder, it seems like it will turn nice. I have seen strikers made of a few species of wood that were spalted.

Made a small road trip to Keim Lumber this morning. That place is awesome, I'll be back lol

A big limb fell on the driveway of my neighbor lady across the street. Not sure what kind of wood it is. I'll grab a chunk and throw it in my garage for you.

I have a walnut tree right beside my cabin that drops limbs from time to time. If a big enough one falls I'll save it for you. I've got a large variety of trees down there.
