Making me smile and I can’t control it. As the rest of the world goes into wreckage and disarray, this couple decided to build a cabin. Hats off! They need to take a bow when this is done!!!! Gonna be a group of followers that they don’t even know. Truly an inspiration.
Awesome! They won't even know they are isolated. Totally busy in a whole new world of their own... Priceless!

He spent the last two days cutting his sawmilled 2x4s to length. He cut all the boards last summer. Every board other than plywood is from his sawmill. To me that adds an extra level of awesomesness. Anyways, they went up today and got 2 walls up.

All the beams on the foundation are re-sawn, re-claimed telephone poles he got dirt cheap... I think they are 6x8
The big front windows and French door will be the main attraction in my opinion. He wants several big windows to give a panoramic feeling as you look out...

Well the 4 walls are up. Now the second story. Sorry for all the pics but will keep this as a place to store my pics as well. Looking to make an album when finished.

I NEED to see more stuff like this. This is a feel good story in motion. Tired of all the COVID talk everywhere I turn.
They have made some more progress. They got the 5 support beams for the 2nd floor up this week. The three vertical cherry beams are 8”x10”and the horizontal red oak beams are 10”x10”x15’. He said a 1 foot chunk of the oak weigh around 40lbs. He rigged up a pulley system on the scaffold on a smallI-beam with a 2500lb electric winch.
