What's the rest of this story??? Was that deer recovered?
He waited until well after dark last night before going back to look for the deer. He said it all looked the same, really thick, unable to locate anything. He said he might go back this morning. 🙄

What's the cost for the drone searches for recovery? I'm talking just base charge without fuel cost/milage added in. If you want to pm me so it's not out here that works for me. I'm just curious as I know dogs can range widely in price.

The woods
Once the leaves come off I feel confident in finding most any deer - even if they are still alive. Before that, dogs get my vote every time.
I had my first deer recovery call of the season today. It was in the big woods of Southern Ohio. I unfortunately had to turn it down as I told him I just didn't think it would be worth their money to have me search the big woods until the leaves thin out in the next couple weeks. After that its game on. Honesty and integrity go a long ways in small business.

At $350 a call, it is still going to take a few years to pay off your investment. Seems like a bad business decision if deer recovery was the only use. Good thing these things have way more uses. Probably make some good money on farmers. Selling them pics of themselves harvesting.

I've identified several ways to make money that I think will pay off with time, some of it potentially large, but honestly right now this is about helping people to me, while I continue to build my brand. It's not my money maker and right now is just a hobby with a potential big upside. . The drone that I've invested in is a true game changer and I think as they become more mainstream their value will start to be realized. If I can turn it into more than a hobby over time, that would be awesome. Worse case scenario I end up helping a couple dozen people find their deer each fall and I make fishing money while I'm at it.

After watching that deer and knowing where he was I feel confident if it were me, that deer’s misery would have ended much sooner. Sadly, we can’t dictate how others handle situations.
I would have been mistaken here…. He sent me a pic last night. The deer is alive and back on their corn pile. Seeing a deer gasping with a huge hole in it is disturbing. I guess it does not mean it is on deaths door.

I'm honestly not too surprised by that. I bet it didn't penetrate but a couple inches, especially with a mechanical. That deer still isn't out of the woods yet, as infection will surely set in on that massive hole.

Not Ohio, but Illinois which I have a lease in. I believe Deer Drone Recovery has an operator in Illinois, wonder how that will work out after investing into the equipment.
Looks like I will be leaving mine at home when we head out the end of this month.
