Doggone good dog thread

Been having some issue with Gunner. Hes been whimpering more and more, goes outside, hikes a leg, nothing comes out. Wants out 10 minutes later. Repeat. So off to the vet. X-ray shows a mass about the size of a softball between his spleen and bladder. My Vet recommends another Vet for an Ultrasound. Ultrasound shows that its a tumor attached to the spleen. Has to come out immediately. Ultrasound also shows an enlarged prostate. They recommend getting him fixed. Called and scheduled the surgery this morning. Drop him off tonight, surgery is tomorrow.
I've been dreading this. I knew it was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier. I've had Gunner since he was 11 weeks old. He just turned 10 in December. He was the biggest help in my transition from Military life to civilian life. So this one stings quite a bit.

Hope all is well man.
I'd like to celebrate a couple of birthdays today, but I think Gunnar got Bailey pregnant and now I'm trying to get her in to get that confirmed and pups aborted. I kept them apart until she stopped discharging and even then was keeping a good eye on them. In 5 minutes of me being in the house, they got knotted and she is apparently like her mother - get pregnant through the wind.

Thanks guys. I had a conversation with him the other night, told him were going to get him taken care of. I left out the fact the his balls would disappear. He might not be very happy with me when he realizes they are missing.

Started a new chapter in our lives on Saturday. The girls have been begging for a pup for a few years now and we finally gave in. His name is Moose. I may just have to get back into waterfowl now that I got a new buddy!
Lucky Fuggen Larry got him a shed dog...I shall call him Lucky Fuggen Moose! He’s perfect! Just look at him.

Woke up this morning and my 1st thought was of him. Hope he was able to get some sleep while at the Vet. They are going to do a chest X-ray first thing, if its clear they will continue with the surgery. If not, we will discuss the options.

Surgery went fine. Everything was taken care of. Hes in the process of waking up. Thats all I know for now.
I'm not picking him up until Friday. Give him some time to heal without wrestling with the wife's dog, going up and down stairs, jumping in the couch, etc. Hate to do it but it's best for him.
