Hey, don’t draw your firefighter gayness into this subject.... [emoji23]

I’m sure you can spot gayness ASAP with your title. At least you have come out of the closet. We are all proud of you. That takes a lot of guts. Stay strong big guy.

All but one black male. Had someone bail on me. I figure I'll let everyone pick, then find a home for the "leftover".

that it a great looking bunch of pups.

"leftover" = "Lefty" that is how he got his name because he was the last one left. Out of the 10 pups in that litter, he was the only one not taken immediately. He was sold, too, if I hadn't taken him. I was reluctant to commit to the obligation of a real hunting dog at the time, but I'm glad the old man talked me into it. Slick was 6 weeks old when I brought him home. the sooner you can start to bond with a pup, the better, imo.

It sure is a lot of work raising puppies, but we're having fun with it. What else are you going to do when you're trapped at home?!? The pic of the single black male is one I call Babe cause he reminds me of Babe Ruth, boxy and athletic. Pretty sure he's headed home with a TOOzer. The one chewing on the beer can is a female and the first born. She's an awesome little dog who is going home to my "unicorn" from high school. They go for shots next Wednesday and homebound after that!

So for those that didn't know, I actually have 25 labs in my house at the moment. We had 12 born Monday, but 1 did not make through the first night. She appears to have had fluid in her lungs that didn't get adequately cleared. So we are left with another litter of 11. Here's where it gets crazy. Lulu, our yellow female has 2 yellow parents. All 4 grandparents are yellow. Gunnar's mom is full blooded chocolate with some yellow in her family tree. There's 10 blacks and 2 chocolates! If we'd had a yellow male that was almost white like Lulu, we were for sure keeping it.

It gets a little crazier, yet. Or could. We loves chocolates and after Remi, chocolate males are our preferred dog. Well, we have a male and female chocolate. I'm trading the female for hunting access 😉, but the male is struggling a little. My wife is bottle feeding him and I'm helping him stay on the teet a few times a day and fighting the other dogs off. If he makes it and shows any sign of promise, I'm not sure he's leaving. I mean, we have 25 today, so what's 4 when the dust settles?!?

Oh, and Gunnar is on the waiting list to lose his balls. It'll happen in May!

Lesson learned...I hope. No doubt, I’d kill every animal on the property if that happened to me. You wouldn’t be able to find a worm reproducing. Nuclear waste land

Have fun with that LOL. I actually had two litters of Treeing Walker's back in the day a month apart. 13 first litter 9 the second plus the mom's plus my Brittany. Biggest difference was that I drove to Virginia to breed to the same stud dog with both females a month apart. Lots of miles. Some good dogs came out of that cross. Good luck!!!

Umm 24 dogs, not a chance I’d try to tackle the feat. My first litter my dog had, was 11 pups. Let me say their ain’t enough teets. We wound up bottle feeding them boogers. Also the bitch was freaked out and wanted nothing to do with them. Puppy’s when very young will only pee and shit when the momma dog licks them, we used warm towels to get that done. Also had to make her lay down and let them feed here and there. This bitch was very smart and knew everything like my current lab. This scares the shit out of me cause I don’t want a repeat of that action.

Pretty common in puppies to have 1 or 2 that are born dead or die within the first day or 2 especially in a big litter. .
