Elite Hunter issues

Looking at the link OMO posted it seems like mine are the older style that they are replacing. I sent for a new set but they won't be here for 2-3 weeks. I will grab some blue loc tite tomorrow :)

I use blue loctite on every nut, bolt an screw on my bow, accessories, release even field tips an broad heads..I know might be a bit of over kill but im always worried about loose nuts:smiley_crocodile:?

Do y'all think I should use the red on some of these bolts its stronger right????Sorry for the thread Hi-jack Redcloud

Adam, the elites have a draw module specific slot for the draw stop. You can't have a drawlength mod that is 27 with the draw stops set at 30 on these bows. It will only let you go like +-.1/4" with each mod. You get what I'm saying? I don't think the shop owner is "jerry rigging" your bow, elite just has a quality issue.

Greg,

That slot the draw stop is in sure does look like alot more than a 1/4" adjustment :smiley_confused_vra

I got ya.

The riggin part comes from the fact that he just pulled stops off god knows what cam that was hanging on the wall and then one off a bow on the showroom floor. After he installed those he then said " I will have to call Elite and have them send me some stops " WTF ? He wouldn't call Elite to get me new stops and just gave me what he had laying around. That's BS. Milo also noticed a small scratch on the cam so I asked about that at the shop. He said that it wasn't dented and not causing any cable scratching so he walked over to the table and grabbed a permanent black marker and colored the scratch. Basically what I got was a shop demo bow scratch and dent model for the price of a new in the box bow and he doesn't want to fix it the right way. I pay for a great product and he seems to think money grows on trees and time stands still and I can just run the bow to his shop every few days so he can put a band-aid repair on it that I could have done myself. To me his CS sucks and isn't living up to the Elite standards. Call me picky on my guns and bows but this to me is NOT how you should be running things in a PRO shop.

The black in the pictures is the cam, and it is used for any draw length. The silver is the draw mod. It covers up the majority of that slot so you can only adjust the draw stop that +-, whatever it may be, for your specific draw length. You can't actually see the slot for that mod because the drawstop covers almost all of it up.

Just got off the phone with Elite :smiley_clap:

Seems that a few bows have been seen with my issue and it is do to the limb being handmade and some of the limbs are just a bit too long from the axle hole to the tip.
They gave me a RA# to ship the bow back in and be rebuilt with new limbs and he will toss in the 1/2" shorter draw mods while he is at it. No problems with their CS. That was sweet and easy.

Now I have to decide if I want to send it in before or after the shoot lol. It's about a 2 week turn around

I knew it looked like it was hitting the end of the limbs. Adam, I would send it back now rather than risking tearing something up and possibly hurting yourself in the process. I know it sucks man, but you will be better off in the long run.

I probably will send it back in now. I will just have to bring the old rig again lol. Does suck that's for sure but they are fixing it with no hassle once so ever and I will have peice of mind knowing it is done RIGHT so I can't bitch about that at all.

I guess I will just have to take my wallet and show you all pics of my baby instead lol.

Any suggestions on who to use for the shipping ? Time to break out the allen wrench and grab the sight off.

I don't even want to know what shipping is going to cost me :(

Use UPS and insure it for $800, get you a bow box from a reliable shop, and wrap it in bubble wrap. I think it cost me $17 to ship the bowtech to California after I sold it.

They gave you an RMA number right. Sometimes that cover's shipping sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the company. Call and ask them their preferred shipper and if the RMA covers shipping.

Glad to hear that Elite is going to take care of things for you, Adam. It kind of surprises me that they didn't catch that before the bow left the factory though... Can you feel a bump or anything when you draw the bow, like when the draw stop hits the limb?

If I were you, I'd be done visiting that wing-wang's bow shop. Sounds to me like that guy is a fuggin ra-tard. Who the hell takes out a black permanent marker to fix a scratch on a BRAND NEW BOW? They don't sell you new cars with scratches on them. When I bought my Z28 from Fisherman's Warehouse, he had one or two in his shop that were exactly what I wanted, but he still asked me whether I wanted to just order new from the factory. I opted to order new, since I didn't know the history of the bows hanging in the shop. I'm not saying you did the wrong thing by picking one off the shelf... I just think a good shop owner would expect you to get a pristine bow when you're paying full price for it and gave you that option as well... And even if you did want one that he had in stock, he should have made sure it was in the same condition as a new-in-box bow. Moral of my story, that guy seems like a real piece of work.

RMA # doesn't cover shipping to them but they will cover shipping back so that's cool with me. I didn't get a chance to find a bow box today so will be sent tomorrow after I pick one up and hit the UPS place in Mansfield.

Couldn't get a box that would fit properly. The guy at the pro shop where I got the bow takes all the bows out of the cardboard and then burns the boxes in the firepit. The only other archery shops are 45min. away and by the time I burned gas to get one I figured UPS store could just do it. I went past the bank and took some money out to hopefully cover the shipping lol. I drove about 20min. over to Mansfield to the UPS store and had them wrap and package it all up and to be shipped out today to arrive at Elite on Monday.

Note to self : Find a box and pack it yourself. Having UPS do it all is expensive lol. Cost me $44 to ship from Mansfield, OH to Henrietta, NY

The tech I talked to at Elite wanted me to add a note to remind him to change out the draw mods to a 1/2" shorter DL so I did that and added about a page of typed print explaining the shenanigans of the bow shop. I will keep you all updated as I get information back but so far Elite has been Awesome to deal with.
