No secret really, access, time, desire and a well trained eye. These all play a part in being a successful shed hunter.
You can only find sheds if they are actually on the land you have access on. Other words, if they ain't there? You aren't gonna find any!

Time is also very important but if you don't have good ACCESS it doesn't really mean as much now does it.:smiley_coolpeace:

Fields is where it's at now. Winter wheat, stubble, hay and cornfields are the hot beds for sheds....IMO
It's just to early to go full bore in the timber. An occasional traipse through a bedding area every other weekend has been my ploy.

Join the club bro! I've walked 5 miles many days and usually find zilch! rotflmao
Man I'm still feeling sore and achy from Fridays outdoor stuff. I walked about 2-3 miles in the morning then pulled and carried out 3 double hangon treestand sets along with the screw in steps,ratchet straps and the other stuff in the middle of the day then walked another 2 miles before dark. WOW, my legs still ache and feel like jello! rotflmao
I tried limiting my trips to the truck due to the distance and time limitations by carrying both stands and everything else out from each location only once....now I'm paying for it! Lol
It's a great feeling getting that done though and having it all out of the weather and away from the critters that like to chew on stuff. The bastards even started chewing my Python cable lock covers. It sucks to think about putting them back up again this fall but it's a necessary royal pain in the ass if you want to add life to your equipment.
I also pulled my last camera on the farm after getting video of a father and his daughter walking through like they were looking for sheds or exploring. It sure sucks seeing this but there's nothing I can do about it. The cameras weren't showing much to me anyway so I decided to start pulling them a few weeks ago so now all 5 are out but I do still have one more single set hangon to pull. It's a half mile from my parking spot but I hope to be recuperated by Friday to get it then.
