Update.................

The "J Man" helping the stove repair man. As soon as he heard him knock on the door he ran up stairs and got his battery operated drill to help him, the repair man was so nice to him and thanked him for his help, lol.

Those are cute.
What a fine man he was to let him help. He must have been a grandfather...

Thanks Guys. I must say at first I was pretty nervous about this whole thing. We ( or maybe it was me ) started slow with having him on weekends but Laura and I fell in love with the little guy and of course now he lives with us full time and we are going to adopt him. Never thought at 55 years of age I would want this but I do, and of course my wife does as well. He brings so much joy into our lives, my only regret is I am not home like I want TOO be. Still looking for a job so I can be home and raise him. He always calls me daddy.......( his father is in prison and the mother is a drug addict ) and he never had a father figure in his life except some ole drunk guy and a aunt. He has come a long way in the short time we have had him. Still has a way TOO go but in my heart he is heading in the right direction and getting better. Laura takes him to a speech therapist now and also he gets counseling through the state. I look forward to hopefully soon have a job back home so I can be the father figure he has never had in his life. Thanks everyone for your support and well wishes.

Glad I wasn't the only one... that's some good stuff, warms the soul. You are a good man and it sounds like you have a great wife. What a team, that is one lucky kid!

You are already a father figure and doing a great job. Sometimes we have to sacrifice with work to better our families. You are showing that to him, some things can't be told.

How's the knee holding up?
